Nueva Salud, a quarterly insert expected to launch during the first quarter 2005, will not be published. Co-publishers Papel Media and Laureti Media Group decided to cancel the project when backing from a major pharmaceutical company fell through due to internal changes. Nueva Salud would have been part of a growing number of print media platforms available to health and pharma advertisers. According to some publishers, the pharma category, already weak in Hispanic print, has shown no signs of growth during the first half of 2005. Nueva Salud was expected to have a circulation of 1.5 million and would have been distributed as an insert in Spanish-language newspapers in Papel Media's network (see “Hispanic print, an underutilized resource by pharma advertisers,” page 11, Portada® No. 14, February/March 2005).
