Bauer Xcel Media, Bauer Media Group's digital division, announced the worldwide launch of J-14 Espanol. Live now, es.j-14.com is part of Bauer Xcel Media's on-going initiative to expand its successful U.S. teen digital brands globally.Heather Thompson, executive editor of the Bauer Teen Network will oversee J-14 Espanol along with a Spanish-speaking editor working on the site exclusively.
Priscilla Rodriguez has been appointed Senior Editor, Digital, at Latina.com. Prior to that, she was Associate Editor, Digital, there.Before hitting the pavement at Latina, Priscilla worked for various outlets including Teen.com, InStyle and Us Weekly.
Reny Diaz has been named VP of insights & strategy for NBCUniversal’s Hispanic Enterprises and Content unit. He will be based in New York and report to Jacqueline Hernandez, chief marketing officer of the unit. Diaz was previously research director at Fusion and Univision Noticias. He also served as director of client engagement at Nielsen.
Starcom MediaVest Group, a division of Publicis Groupe , has announced the appointment of Kim Kadlec to the newly created role of President, GNC Americas and the promotion of Jodie Stranger to the also newly created role of President, GNC EMEA. SMG’s Global Network Client (GNC) practice creates a seamless global organization for its clients that operate in multiple markets, providing brand growth and innovation. As GNC Presidents, Kadlec and Stranger will ensure leadership, strategy, top to top connections and greater consistency throughout their regions. Kadlec and Stranger will partner with market CEOs and global account leaders to drive GNC initiatives.
Kadlec will be based in SMG’s New York City office and report to Laura Desmond, SMG’s Global CEO. Kadlec joins SMG from AOL, where she was Global Head of Strategic Partnerships. Prior to AOL, Kadlec was Worldwide Vice President, Global Marketing Group at Johnson & Johnson.
Stranger will continue to be based in London and report to John Sheehy, President, Global Operations.A veteran of the media business with over 20 years of experience, Stranger was most recently Executive Director of Global Network Client Operations for SMG’s EMEA region. She joined SMG from Aegis, where she served as the New Business and Marketing Director, Vizeum EMEA. Prior to this position, Stranger was the Vice President of Aegis Media Global Clients.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), one of largest not-for-profit supporting Hispanic American higher education, has announced the addition of Chief Sustainability Officer of The Coca-Cola Company, Bea Perez, to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. She is the first leader in the field of sustainability to have served on HSF’s board.In her role at Coca-Cola, Ms. Perez is helping the Coca-Cola system achieve its goals of economically empowering 5 million women, replenishing 100% of the water it uses, and supporting community well-being. She is also leading Coca-Cola’s efforts to integrate sustainability deeper and more broadly, throughout its operations.Ms. Perez has been recognized for her business success and sustainability leadership. She is a member of the American Advertising Hall of Achievement and the Sports Business Journal’s Hall of Fame.
Mobile specialist agency Fetch, part of Dentsu Aegis Network, has hired Melissa Greenberg, a former vice president at social advertising platform SHIFT, to manage its new New York office. She is tasked with building a team and driving new business growth across Fetch North America.Greenberg, who will run the New York office as general manager, brings a drive and passion for mobile.Prior to joining SHIFT, Greenberg spent four years leading a sales team at DailyCandy, the women's lifestyle brand. Earlier, she held positions at IAC Advertising and CBS Interactive.
