Juan Chouza is the new Associate Media Planning Director at GMG, a company set up by Global Hue to buy and plan media for clients including Verizon Wireless. Chouza will be heading the National team on the Verizon Wireless account and be reporting to Robert Fitzgerald, EVP, Executive Media Officer, Global Hue. Until recently Chouza worked as Media Director at New York based Gravity Media

Matthew Harris joined Yahoo!’s US Hispanic sales team as National Account Director, based in Chicago. He'll be reporting to Armando Rodriguez, Yahoo!'s head of Hispanic Americas and U.S. Hispanic operations and sales.  Prior to joining Yahoo!, Matthew was with Univision for 11 years, where he was a key figure in their television and interactive sales organizations.

John Paton, the former CEO of Impremedia is now running what amounts to be the second largest newspaper company in the U.S.  MediaNews Group, Inc., the nation's second largest newspaper company as measured by circulation, ("MediaNews") announced that it has appointed John Paton as CEO, and has entered into an agreement with newly-created Digital First Media, headed by Mr. Paton, to provide management services and lead the execution of the Company's business strategy. Mr. Paton and Digital First Media will also manage The Journal Register Company. This arrangement provides MediaNews, the publisher of Spanish-language newspapers and websites including Impacto USA and Viva Colorado, with immediate cost benefits, and the ability to leverage the combined scale and expertise of MediaNews and Journal Register Company to benefit both companies, respectively.  

R&R Partners, Las Vegas, opened a Hispanic marketing division, R&R ala Latina, based in its Los Angeles office. Two executives are joining R&R to lead the new unit: Andy Maroglio, vice president for strategy and development, and Manuel Huici, vice president and creative director. They had previously run their own agency, Cinco Talentos Creative Services, Miami.  

Renata Florio joined Wing, New York, as chief creative officer, succeeding Gustavo Asman, who is leaving, the agency said, to pursue other interests. Ms. Florio had most recently been executive creative director at Peralta StrawberryFrog, São Paulo, Brazil. Wing is part of the Grey Group unit of WPP.  

Encompass Outdoor, a New York based provider of out of home media and event market solutions, that recently hired Michael Vinales as Director of Multicultural Sales announced the launch of its multicultural division which offers products and programs that reach Hispanic, African American and Asian consumers. “The Encompass multicultural portfolio contains the most relevant products from among the company’s existing 30+ products for reaching Hispanic, AA and Asian audiences” said Vinales. “  

Lopez Negrete Communications  announced the additions of Group Planning Director Gustavo Foldivari and Walmart Executive Group Account Director Luis Vargas to their leadership roster.
