Joseph A. García, finance director for SBS (Spanish Broadcasting System), has been named to the board of directors.

Luz Varela has been hired as account supervisor with Edelman's multicultural team, working for AstraZeneca's accounts Crestor and Nexium, among other clients.

Sports marketing agency Octagon has named Matt Neidl to the position of Group Director of its multicultural marketing division.

San Antonio based Advertising Agency Creative Civilization has hired former San Antonio Express-News' executive Sergio H. Salinas as the advertising agency's new executive vice president. Salinas previously served as executive vice president and general manager of the Hearst Corp.-owned daily newspaper. While at the Express-News, Salinas lead the creation of two Hispanic publications: Conexion, and Cancha.

Impremedia named Bill Vincent as Publisher of the Rumbo newspaper network in South and Central Texas. Vincent was recently the Business Director for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and their Spanish-language publication weekly, La Estrella, where he m anaged the day-to-day business of both the daily and weekly publications.
“Texas is the second largest state in terms of Hispanic population, and a strong presence there is critical to the success of impreMedia. Bill Vincent’s track record in Spanish language print media and his knowledge of the local region make him the perfect leader to take Rumbo to the next level,” commented Monica Lozano, SVP Newspapers for impreMedia.
