Low score for magazines and newspapers

 

A recent survey found that only 9% of Spanish language book buyers were interested in or already stocked magazines; only 5% were interested in stocking newspapers. The results of the survey of 1,000 book buyers, with a 27% response rate, were announced by Ingram Books. The highest ranking categories were Children's/Young Adult Books (80%) and bilingual Children's/Young Adult Books (73%). The lack of interest in periodicals can be attributed to the fact that bookstores are not important retail channels for magazines and newspapers.
