Starmedia recently opened a sales office in Bogota Colombia. It named Patricia Gaviria as it Sales Director in Bogota. Gaviria was formerly sales director of Terra in Colombia. In addition to the Colombian office, Starmedia has offices in Mexico City, Miami and Los Angeles.
With the appointment of Gaviria, Starmedia is aiming to increase its sales volume to local advertisers south of Mexico.
Before ClickDiario was bought out by Punto Fox, ClickDiario was selling Starmedia’s Latin American properties to Latin American advertisers. However, that agreement ended with the Punto Fox acquisition.
Starmedia has three portals for the Spanish-speaking world: U.S. Hispanic, Mexico and panregional, which includes all other Latin American countries. The company expects to develop local country portals once local advertising increases.
