The online travel (media) sector is very hot. A proof of it is the price the Spanish company Wiprojects paid to buy the viajes.com domain name (Translated to English Travel.com). According to sources at Wiproject the domain name has been acquired after 13 months of negotiations for $10 million. Another domain name owned by Wiprojects is Bodas.com (Translated to English Weddings.com). Wiprojects has a team of 47 employees who work from Barcelona, Uruguay and Chile, the Spanish newspaper Expansion reports.

Power Media Group, a Santa Clarita-based advertising and public relations agency, has signed on to manage the Hispanic marketing campaign of Liana’s Coleccion, a Los Angeles jewelry catalog. The catalog provides a business opportunity for entrepreneurs to sell jewelry and other items. Power Media, which specializes in creating all-inclusive Spanish language campaigns for high-profile clients, has secured Hispanic actress and singer Laura Flores as the catalog’s spokesperson for 2012. The media campaign will include TV, radio, print and social media, with Flores as the focal point, San Fernando Valley Business Journal reports.

HEB is expanding its Hispanic format Mi Tienda to Austin, TX, the Austin Statesman reports. The $7 million remodeling project — which added 6,000 square feet and about 40 employees to the store — includes a masa factory that grinds corn daily, a tortilleria that will turn that masa into tortillas, a carniceria (Latino-focused butcher shop) and a deli with fresh salsas and cremas. H-E-B officials said the store will give customers "everything they need to create all their favorite Latino-inspired dishes."
