A new nonpartisan, nonprofit, Internet initiative called MATT.org (Mexicans & Americans Thinking Together) was launched last Friday. It describes itself as an online grass-roots think tank, and promises to forge new ideas and practical solutions to problems facing the United States and Mexico. MATT.org is written in Spanish and English. A group of Mexican businesspeople has put up $5 million for the project. Many are based in San Antonio and have interests in both countries.

MATT.org will cover issues including immigration, Mexican politics immigration laws and Mexico-U.S trade. Lionel Sosa is MATT.org's new CEO, he will oversee operations, including its Web site, content and marketing with an eye toward business returns. MATT.org will employ from 40 to 60 employees in various cities.
