Hundreds of multicultural marketing directors, media executives and service providers convened yesterday afternoon in Boca Raton, Florida, for the 10th annual ANA Multucultural Marketing Conference.

Bob Liodice, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Association of National Advertisers, opened the conference, announcing that the 2009 conference will change its name to “Multicultural Marketing and Diversity Conference”. The name change highlights the increasing impact diversity advertising (e.g. supplier diversity, equal opportunity employer) and diversity marketing are having in Corporate America.

After Liodice’s introduction the 2008 Ad Color Awards were presented. The awards were created with the purpose of sharing and highlighting the sotries of those professionals of color who, despite the obstacles they overcame, have always reached back. Award Winners, included Renetta McCann, Founder Publicis Groupe’s Vivaki People Practice and Carol H. Williams, president CEO & Chief Creative Officer Carol H. Williams Advertising, Oakland, CA.


Regular sessions start today. This year's Conference highlights include an analysis of how multicultural markets are now leading the way for real revenue and share growth for many companies. An Election 2008 a Multicultural Marketing Case Study and a presentation on Allstate 360 Degrees Multicultural Marketing. In addition, tomorrow  Edgar Sandoval, General Manager, Marketing and Multicultural Business, North America, of Procter & Gamble will lead a session on Procter & Gamble’s Approach to Multicultural Marketing.
