impreMedia announced the appointments of Hernando Ruiz-Jiménez, Executive Vice President and General Manager, East Division and Damián Mazzotta, General Manager, West Division. Juan Varela also has been tapped as the new Content Director. All three join impreMedia’s Executive Committee and report directly to Francisco Seghezzo, COO.
HBO Latin America announced the appointment of Vincent Cordero to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) beginning this November. As COO, he will be responsible for the company areas including Technology, Legal, Finance and Human Resources, reporting to Gaston Comas, CEO. With industry experience from Univision and Fox Deportes, Mr. Cordero brings keen expertise to the HBO Latin America operation.
Jack Kliger was named CEO of TV Guide magazine. For the past three years, he has worked as a paid consultant to the magazine. Kliger is a former president and CEO of Hachette Filipacchi Media in the U.S. and also served as senior VP of Conde Nast Publications.
Vivian Schiller was named to the newly created position of head of news partnerships at Twitter. She is currently chief digital officer at NBC News and will join Twitter in January. Her appointment had been previously reported citing sources, but Twitter has now confirmed it on its own Twitter account, after Schiller announced it on her Twitter account.
Nicolas Valls was named executive VP, ad sales at HempishereMedia Group. He was most recently senior VP, network sales at Univision.
English-language entertainment network NUVOtv announced that Laura Masse has joined the network as Executive Vice President, Marketing.In this newly-created position, Masse will oversee all marketing for the network, including brand strategy, creative services, on-air promotion, consumer marketing, corporate communications as well as the network’s digital presence across platforms. She is based in Los Angeles and reports to Michael Schwimmer, Chief Executive Officer, NUVOtv.
John Halley was promoted to executive VP and COO of ad sales for Viacom Media Networks. He was previously senior VP, ad sales finance and sales business intelligence. He will report to Jeff Lucas, head of sales, music and entertainment; Jim Perry, head of sales, Nickelodeon Group; and Rich Eigendorff, COO of Viacom Media Sales. In his new role, Halley will be responsible for the company’s pricing and inventory, commercial operations, finance and business intelligence functions for Viacom Media Networks’ linear and digital operations.
Tim Spengler joins Clear Channel Media as Head Of Content Marketing. The longtime media agency executive, most recently CEO of Magna Global and prior to that president of Initiative, has joined the media company in the newly created role of president of content marketing and revenue strategy. Spengler will be responsible for developing new media and advertising opportunities using all of Clear Channel’s media and entertainment assets.
Adriana Ruiz Lopez is leaving her position as account supervisor at Edelman Multicultural to pursue a broader marketing opportunity.
