Santiago Duran is the new COO at Mexican agency Carat. Duran will lead the agency´s expansion into digital media.
Mediamind has opened a new office in Bogotá, Colombia. Isabel Agudelo is now in charge of the operations in the country. Agudelo has been working for the company since 2006 in Mediamind London as Account Manager.
Satélites Mexicanos (Satmex) has appointed Javier Recio as its Sales Vice President. Recio has 17 years of experience in the Latin American telecommunications market. Recio has previously worked for Americatel Corporation, PanAmSat Corporation and Intelsat Corporation.
Shaun Gregory, the managing director of O2 Media, has been promoted to the new global role of director of advertising for its parent company, Telefónica.
Gregory, who joined O2 Media in early 2009, will work within the new Telefónica Digital division, which is headed by Matthew Key, the former chief executive of Telefónica O2 Europe. His brief will be to develop a global strategy for advertising businesses across Telefónica.
At O2 Media, Andreas Nicolaou from Microsoft Advertising will replace Gregory as the head of client strategy. Nicolaou will report to Gary Cole, the commercial director of O2 Media and the former ITV online sales director.
