- Rafael Rodriguez has joined the Rumbo newspaper chain in Texas as managing director of the Rio Grande Valley office. “Rafael has over 14 years of sales and management experience with Hispanic publications throughout the state,” said Cook. “He's extremely knowledgeable and well connected in the Hispanic market and will be a tremendous asset to our publication.” As managing director, Rodriguez will be responsible for developing new business, maintaining strong relationships with advertising agencies and local businesses, and serving as a key point of contact for RUMBO in the Valley community. Additionally, he will hire and train new sales associates and monitor collections and distribution. Prior to joining RUMBO, Rodriguez spent the past 14 years as sales manager at the Valley Town Crier, a weekly community paper covering Hidalgo County, owned by American Consolidated Media.
