Seeking to draw attention to serious health ailments that are commonplace among U.S. Hispanics, the “Celebra la Vida con Salud (Celebrate Life with Healthy Living)" campaign made a stop in San José, CA, this weekend.
According to event organizers and health professionals, Hispanics have disproportionately high rates of several major illnesses and diseases including HIV/AIDS, heart disease, diabetes, stroke, obesity and cancers.
NikeGo, Terra.com, and the American Red Cross are all campaign partners. The major partner of the campaign is the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
