Red Bull is likely to fetch tens of millions of US dollars in terms of global exposure from their Red Bull Stratos event where Felix Baumgartner skydived from the edge of space in a record breaking stunt on October 14.
Conforming with Red Bull slogan, “Red Bull gives you wings”, Baumgartner broke the sound barrier in a 24-mile space jump, which shattered the existing record for the highest altitude skydive.
The jump has also broken the record for the “live stream with the most concurrent views ever on YouTube” according to the video-sharing site, with over eight million people viewing the event at the same time.
Red Bull has described the stunt as the ‘biggest piece of activity it has undertaken this year’. The brand had heavily promoted the event through its own sites as well as social media channels and PR activity.
According to Twitter, there have been approximately 3.1 million tweets sent, relating to the event.
