Editorial Staff Moves at ‘People en Español’

People en Español* has hired Juan Manuel Rótulo as the new Executive Editor of PeopleEnEspanol.com. His first day is May 14. Rótulo is the former editor of Wonderwall Latino the Microsoft-owned Spanish-language entertainment site.

Rótulo, a native of Argentina, joins the Spanish-language magazine, as Ernesto Sánchez, former managing editor of PeopleEnEspanol.com, has been let go. Sources tell Portada Sánchez was let go without an explanation on May 1. A spokesperson for People en Español confirmed his departure and the appointment of Rótulo.*

Also gone from *People en Español* is Miguel Sirgado, the magazine’s entertainment editor. A replacement has not been announced yet.

People en Español* editorial moves come a few days before the magazine’s famed ‘Bellos’ bash, a lavish party celebrating this year’s 50 Most Beautiful Latinos that will take place May 15th at the Plaza in New York City. The VIP gala, now in its 16th year, will be sponsored by 7Up, Colgate Optic White, Garnier, Maybelline New York and Dominican Ministry of Tourism, and coincides with Hispanic TV Upfront week
