Changing places: Sandra Guzman , Javier Garcia , Luis Fernandez-Rocha , Maria Lopez

Sandra Guzman, former  Latina magazine editor in Chief,  was named editor in chief of Heart and Soul, a healt-and-wellness magazine magazine targeting African Americans.  Guzman the author of “The new Latina’s Bible’. Heart and Soul was  recently purchased by a group that includes veteran journalist George E. Curry , The  Root reports.

Javier Garcia was appointed General Manager for the US Hispanic Business and operations for Yahoo! Previously, he was Director Marketing Solutions for Yahoo! (Read our Interview with Garcia)

TeleFutura has named Luis Fernandez-Rocha as Senior Vice President. He was SVP and Regional Director of the Univision Television Group.

Maria Lopez Alvarez was named SVP of Alternative Programming in Telemundo.

Rod Sierra was appointed Chief Communications and Marketing Officer and SVP of the American Medical Association (AMA). Previously, he was SVP and chief Marketing Officer at Jonhson Publishing Company.

Carolina Guana was named Multicultural Market Group Account Director of Allison+Partners

Jim Roberts was appointed Sr. Director, Deportes Local Radio Group in ESPN, Inc. Previously, he was Sr. Director, Affiliate Sales for the same canal.

Michel Cordoba joined New American Dimensions, a Multicultural Research firm, as Senior Director of Qualitative Research.

Hector Silva left LatinWorks. He didn’t give a reason of his departure. He was the firms director of finance since 13 years.

The Mexican actress Adriana Fonseca joined Telemundo with an exclusive contract to play in a prime time novella productions.
