Changing Places: Javier Garcia, Carlos Moreno, Eva Hughes, Denise McManuc

is promoting Javier Garcia to the newly created position of general manager of the U.S. Hispanic business,   reporting into Armando Rodriguez, Yahoo ¹s vice president and managing director for Latin America and US Hispanic.  Javier is responsible for leading, growing and developing Yahoo’s  Hispanic- business in addition to his current role of market development. He will continue to be based in Yahoo’s Coral Gables, FL office.

Carlos Moreno has been named Regional Sales Director for El Nuevo Día in the US Hispanic Market and Grupo de Diarios América. Moreno currently is the Sales Director of El Nuevo Dia.com. Mr. Moreno will be based in Boston, MA. Carlos Nido, VP of Sales of El Nuevo Día in Puerto Rico and the president of the Sales Comite for the US Hispanic Market at Grupo de Diarios América (GDA), announced  Moreno’s appointment. 

Comcast Cable has hired Ruben Mendiola as its vice president and general manager of multicultural video services. Mendiola reports to Marcien Jenckes, senior vice president and general manager of video services for Comcast. In his new job, Mendiola is responsible for directing, designing and implementing Comcast's multicultural video services strategy. He will collaborate with various Comcast divisions, regions and business unit partners to develop competitive product pricing, positioning and marketing strategies.

Vogue Mexico and Latin America editor Eva Hughes has been named chief executive of Condé Nast Mexico and Latin America, replacing Farid Aouragh who has left to pursue other opportunities. A replacement editor for Vogue will be announced soon. Condé Nast Latin America also publishes Spanish-languages titles distributed in the U.S. Hispanic market.

Telemundo Arizona has named Denise McManuc as Vice President of Sales.

Before joining Telemundo she was Director of advertising sales for Comcast.

Lourdes Ramos and Felix de Bedout was named anchors of “Noticiero Univision Fin de semana” in Telemundo.

Zev Levy was appointed Director of Sales of SBS Los Angeles. Previously, he was General Sales Manager for KLAX 97.9FM.

KTMD, Telemundo O&O (Houston) has appointed Michael McAlone as Vice president of Sales.

Ryan Partnership Chicago announced the appointment of Annie Lopez Kiperman as Vice president. Previously, she was working in Zubi Advertising as expert in packaged goods and retail consumer.

Ruben Ramirez was named national assignment editor for PBS.

  • Mario M. Carrera was named Senior Vice president of Spanish-Language Television in Entravision Communications Corporation.
