Newspaper auction company CityXpress has signed Colombian publisher Casa Editorial El Tiempo to handle the sales of its program in 300 Spanish-language newspapers across 19 countries.
The CityXpress program sells local vendors' merchandise via newspaper auction in exchange fo advertising credits, thus generating revenue for the newspaper, exposure for the vendors, and good deals for the buyers.
CityXpress first partnered with Bogota's El Tiempo last summer for “La Gran Subasta El Tiempo.” Luis Fernando Santos says that the first auction was such a success that they were impelled to broaden the program with CityXpress.
