The Council of the Americas is a group of highly regarded C-level executives that share their enthusiasm for Marketing, Tech and Media in the Americas.

The four objectives of the Council of the Americas are:

1. To provide U.S. and Latin American C-level leaders a platform for high level, informal gatherings.
2. To advance the marketing communications discipline as a key way to connect with consumers throughout the Americas.
3. To discuss major challenges and opportunities in marketing, tech and media.
4. To provide relevant input for Portada content (event programming, digital and print magazine communication).

Marcos oversees editorial and sales. He is based in Portada's NYC headquarters. Prior to launching Portada in 2003, Marcos worked in both the media and finance sectors. He occupied leading roles at the Spanish edition of The Wall Street Journal, in Spain’s newspaper Cinco Dias and at SwissRe. He is an MBA, and a CFA. Marcos is a print junkie and also loves all things digital media. He also is passionate about everything related to New York City and loves to play tennis.

Based in Miami, Adriana is Facebook's Regional Director for Latin America. She’s responsible for the pan-regional business and the Miami operation. She joined Facebook in 2011 in Brazil. With over 15 years of experience in the media & technology business, Adriana helped educate consumer goods companies in the region to improve their performance. Previous to Facebook, Adriana spent 5 years at Google as a Business Director in Brazil. Adriana and her team have helped companies such as Unilever, P&G, Coke, AB-Imbev, and Netflix to reach consumers.

Alberto “Banano” Pardo is an AdTech and eCommerce Entrepreneur with strategic vision for launching startups. In 1999, Pardo was part of the first Latin American online marketplace, deremate.com. In 2008, Pardo created the eCommerce Chamber in Colombia and founded digital agency Bea Digital. He founded Adsmovil in 2010. He is also the co-founder of Pinbus.com, Global Member of the Mobile Marketing Association and an Endeavour mentor. He has been honored by the Mobile Marketing Association, IAB Colombia, the eCommerce Chamber in Colombia and Havas Group.

Since July 2015 José María is the CEO of GroupM Latam, coming from GroupM Spain where he joined in 2010 as CEO. He had previously worked in Havas Media Spain where he held different positions of responsibility: Chief Information Officer, General Manager at MPG Madrid and General Manager of MPG Iberia.
José María has degree in Aeronautical Engineering and before entering the advertising business he had developed a career in IT.
José María has participated in several management, strategic marketing and executive development programs in Wharton School, Stanford University and Insead.
He has been member of the Board of “Autocontrol de la Publicidad” (Advertising Self-Regulation Association in Spain) and of the Control Board of Kantar Media (TV audiometry).
