Marcos Baer
Board Chair

Marcos oversees editorial and sales. He is based in Portada's NYC headquarters. Prior to launching Portada in 2003, Marcos worked in both the media and finance sectors. He occupied leading roles at the Spanish edition of The Wall Street Journal, in Spain’s newspaper Cinco Dias and at SwissRe. He is an MBA, and a CFA. Marcos is a print junkie and also loves all things digital media. He also is passionate about everything related to New York City and loves to play tennis.

Lauren Wormser
Communications Planning Director

Lauren has worked at MediaCom for 12 years. She has a general market background and has worked on accounts ranging from tech to toys to chocolate and everything in between. One of her main achievements was being taped to help launch the AARP account at the agency and helping to win their multicultural business. She's responsible for client strategy and plan tactics development with the GM and Multicultural team members. Constant communication and education have made the AARP account successful.

José Bello

Jose Bello is Senior Director of Total Market at Hearts & Science. Jose has more than 25 years of experience in corporate marketing, advertising and media. Prior to Hearts & Science, he was Managing Partner at Mediacom New York where he increased multicultural billings by 3.5x in two years working with Anheuser Busch, MARS, Volkswagen, Subway, Revlon, and Dell, among others. Jose also spent 6 years at Starcom where he developed a media planning process for a Regional Hub for Kraft in 5 countries in Latam and later spent over 2 years in Russia managing the Coca-Cola and Novartis accounts.

Dana Bonkowski
SVP, Multicultural Lead


Dana is a 24-year Starcom veteran. A founding member of Tapestry and Starcom Multicultural, she has experienced first-hand the multicultural impact on mainstream America and knows how to objectively and successfully steer clients forward. Her current role is Multicultural Lead for Starcom, where she advances cultural understanding across the agency and helps new and veteran clients deliver growth through multicultural audiences. Dana has steered several award winning teams and serves as a North American Effie Judge.

Darcy Bowe

Darcy has been with Starcom for 14 years, focusing on investment and television. For the past 6 years, she has co-lead the Video Center of Excellence, which focuses on Television, Digital, Out of Home, Social and Mobile Video media. She consults teams internally as well as clients directly regarding the Video media landscape. She works with the Video marketplace to assess trends, identify opportunities and negotiate buys. She specializes in advertising to Kids and has expanded into Multicultural over the past year.

Karina Dobarro

Karina is VP, Multicultural & International Brand Strategy at Horizon Media. Since she joined in 2014, she leverages her knowledge of the U.S. multicultural market to develop comprehensive strategies for Horizon’s clients. She is a member of Horizon's Diversity & Inclusion Council where she facilitates agency events and initiatives to advance inclusion and diversity within the agency. In 2016, she was recognized for her contributions towards diversity with the Agency Executive Award for Media by Broadcasting & Cable News.

Ronald is Managing Partner, Multicultural Lead of Mediacom. The goal of the division is to develop a cohesive strategy including all target segments for clients such as Anheuser-Busch, AARP, Bayer, Subway, and Mars. He has developed award-winning media campaigns for clients like Procter & Gamble, Kraft Foods, McDonald’s, and Heineken USA. He is a member of the 4As HS Education Steering Committee, a group of professionals tasked with enhancing programs and providing support to ensure a skilled and diverse talent pipeline.

Before that, Jessica was VP on the Kraft team at MediaVest. There, she co-led the Big Bet initiative, in which Kraft significantly increased its Hispanic media spend. In addition, she was integral in initiatives such as Oreo’s Cuenta Cuentos, Ritz Gustazos del Sabor and Single’s Discover the Truth, and was recognized with the AHAA award for best use of radio, for Kraft’s MIO innovation plan.

Garth Tiedje

Garth heads up a team of 45+ specialized national video buyers in the Horizon New York office. In his role, Garth has helped to evolve the team towards a more specialized, multi-screen video approach, including innovations in audience-based buying, convergence, optimization, and data transfer. His expertise spans all major video genres and encompasses a wide variety of brand categories. Bringing nearly 25 years of marketing and advertising experience to the table, Garth joined Horizon Media in February of 2009.

She drove the multicultural practice to be the second largest US Hispanic Media agency. She currently is staring a new position at Vale Network where she will lead the agency’s business transformation and New Business.

She became General Director of Havas Media (Regions), and 6 new offices in Mexico were opened under her tenure. She joined GroupM in 2017, as General Director of Operations and Trading for Mexico. Winner of 4 Effies and a Latin American Excellence Award.
