Soccer World Cup expected to ad US $500 million to Latam Ad Expenditures

Global ad spend will increase by 5.6% at current prices in 2014, according to Warc. ZenithOptimedia, however, predicted a 5.4% growth for 2014.The FIFA World Cup is believed to be one of the main drivers of this growth estimated for 2014. The FIFA World Cup will boost this global ad spend approximately by US $1.5bn this year and especially in Latin America, where it may add US $500m to the region ad market.

Horizon Media hires Karina Dobarro to lead Multicultural capabilities

Horizon Media is strengthening its existing cross-cultural capabilities as the company continues to infuse cross-cultural experts across all of its brand teams. For this reason it has appointed Karina Dobarro as VP, managing director, multicultural brand strategy to lead the multicultural brand strategy practice within the agency. Joining her is Jerly Marquez as associate director of multicultural brand strategy. Dobarro will report to Stan Fields, EVP, Managing Partner at Horizon Media, and Marquez will report to Dobarro.
