  • Bayern Munich

German soccer side Bayern Munich have announced a “unique content and sales” partnership with Perform Group, focusing on Latin America (LATAM).The deal will allow brands to use the UK-based digital sports media company’s platforms, as well as providing them with the opportunity to engage with the Bundesliga outfit.Bayern Munich opened their first international office in 2014 in New York to service the Americas, with a primary focus on building the infrastructure in North America in order to replicate the model in Latin America.The club said their aims are to “build presence and increase the fan base in LATAM through local language digital platforms and mutually beneficial partnerships.”Bayern have supporter clubs in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Cuba, Panama, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Venezuela.

  • PUMA

Puma, designer and manufacturer of athletic and casual footwear, apparel and accessories, has kicked off a global media pitch, according to people familiar with the matter.Until May, Puma was part of Kering, a Paris-based marketer of luxury goods including leather goods, fashion, shoes, jewelry and watches under such brands as Gucci, Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta. Kering last month spun off Puma as a standalone public company, reducing Kering’s stake to about 16 percent from 86 percent. Publicis´ Blue 449 is the incumbent on the account.Puma’s global media spending is around US$120 million.

 

  • Turkish Airlines

Colombian authorities have requested Turkish Airlines (THY) to increase the number of direct flights between Istanbul and Bogota, according to THY America Sales Marketing Vice President Mustafa Doğan.In response to the request, Doğan said that THY was pleased with the demand in Istanbul-Bogota flight and will take a more active role in the region.The national flag carrier will examine Colombia’s demand on technical and commercial terms. The only reason the company is not so active in Latin America is distance and the limitations of current aircraft technology.Flying to 303 destinations in 120 countries, THY holds the title of the airline flying to the most destinations in the world.

 

  • Dream Hotel Group

Hotel and brand management company Dream Hotel Group and Mexico-based Tamayo Desarrollos have set plans to open the next Chatwal hotel in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, in 2020.Dream has chosen architecture, planning and design firm CallisonRTKL to design the new hotel. The signing of The Chatwal San Miguel de Allende follows Dream Hotel Group’s latest announcement to develop three new hotels in Latin America: Unscripted Tulum in Mexico, Unscripted Belize and Dream Belize. The 24-room Unscripted Belize is slated to open in late 2018 while the 100-room Dream Belize and the 97-room Unscripted Tulum are both scheduled to open in 2020. Dream Hotel plans to sign another 50 hotels and resorts worldwide across its brands Dream Hotels, Time Hotels, The Chatwal and Unscripted Hotels over the next five years.

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company announced the opening of reservations for The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. With a leisurely cruising style, the legendary service of The Ritz-Carlton, and ports at sought after destinations around the world, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection will deliver one-of-a-kind experiences to its guests onboard and transform the luxury cruising industry.Reservations are now open for the inaugural season of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, set to take the seas in February 2020.The first yacht will cruise a wide variety of destinations, including the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Caribbean, Latin America, Canada and Northeastern United States. Voyages will range from seven to ten nights with ports including Barbados, Cartagena, Bordeaux, Copenhagen, Mykonos, Portofino and many more.

The company is rapidly growing its customer base across the region, attracting new customers in sectors such as retail, telecommunications and manufacturing.The opening of CrowdStrike’s new office in Mexico City will accelerate its go-to-market strategy in the region and expand opportunities for new business development and partnerships. This strategic expansion comes on the heels of the company’s global growth of 2,665 percent over the past three years and an impressive customer portfolio of Fortune 1000 companies, government agencies, and small and medium-sized (SMB) organizations.In addition to opening a new office in Mexico City and appointing Carlos Gonzalez, CrowdStrike is also expanding its in-region sales, channel, and marketing teams. CrowdStrike will be exhibiting at Infosecurity Mexico at booth 420 from April 25 — April 27, 2017.

  • Michelin

The Argentine headquarters of Michelin, a French tire company, has chosen media agency Quiroga Medios for media planning and buying. Nicolás Salzamendi, accounts director of the agency, will be responsible for this new client.

  • Copa Airlines & Turkish Airlines

Copa Airlines, subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A., and Turkish Airlines, both members of Star Alliance, signed a Codeshare Agreement which will offer passengers more flight options with seamless connections through Copa’s Hub of the Americas, in Panama City, and Turkish’s seamless gateway to Europe through the company’s Hub, in Istanbul, Turkey.The strategic Hub of the Americas of Copa Airlines, in Panama City, will allow passengers coming from Istanbul fast and efficiently connect to 74 destinations in America and the Caribbean, including the most important cities of the region. Also with this codeshare agreement, the Latin American passengers traveling with Turkish Airlines through its uniquely positioned hub, Istanbul, that bridges the East and the West, will have more entry options to Europe also Africa, Asia/ Far East and Middle East. This agreement, which complements and expands the route networks of both airlines as well as the connectivity between the continents, will also improve and promote bilateral opportunities for tourism and commercial developments between two countries.

Wyndham Opens Two Wyndham Grand Hotels in Paraguay and Uruguay.With the debut of its upper-upscale Wyndham Grand brand in Asunción, Paraguay, and Montevideo, Uruguay, 10 of the company’s 18 brands operate in 11 countries across the continent.Situated in the centers of these two capital cities, the newly constructed Esplendor Asunción – A Wyndham Grand Hotel and Esplendor Montevideo – A Wyndham Grand Hotel offer business and leisure travelers the signature Wyndham Grand experience.

 

 

  • IHG

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) announces the signing of a new-build Holiday Inn hotel in Lima, the capital of Peru. The 19-story, 200-room property will be owned by Grucaba SAC and managed by IHG. The hotel will be situated on Avenida Ricardo Palma in the Miraflores District, an affluent residential area south of downtown Lima known for its upscale dining and shopping.It is scheduled for a Q3 2019 opening.IHG has nearly 1,250 Holiday Inn hotels worldwide, 29 of which are located throughout Latin America. IHG has hotels in nearly 100 countries, with 225 hotels and more than 38,000 rooms throughout Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean.

descargaPizza chain Papa John’s has selected Interpublic’s Initiative as its global new media agency. Initiative’s will focus on strategy and buying for digital and traditional media and social.The pizza retailer spends about US $130 million on ads annually, according to Kantar.The selection came without a formal review. The incumbent was Zimmerman Advertising, a Fort Lauderdale, FL-based agency. Initiative will handle the account out of its New York office. PapaJohn’s is present in most Latin American countries but not in Brazil and Argentina.

Marca Lamasney is joining Richards / Lerma, an independent agency originated in the United States with offices in Mexico. Richards / Lerma was founded six years ago by Pete Lerma. The agency is part of The Richards group, “the largest independent media group in America.” After six years of being an independent agency working for clients such as Bimbo, P&G, Abbott , Obela, and Bonafont among others, Marca Lamasney takes the next step by joining efforts and experiences with the American agency Richards / Lerma, which has offices in Dallas, Buenos Aires and Mexico DF. In Mexico, is in charge of brands such as Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’s and projects for Google, among others. Aldo Quevedo and William Tragant, founder of Fury in Buenos Aires, and partner of Richards / Lerma will be in charge of the creative leadership of the three offices. In Mexico, the agency will be led by David Ravelo and Lourdes Lamasney. The agency operates under the name of Richards / Lerma Mexico.

Ld-G0Des_400x400Ogilvy Brazil has just added group Air France-KLM airline to its portfolio. The new account will be handled from Rio de Janeiro offices, which since early last year have been operating as Air France agency in Brazil, under CEO Luis Carlos Francos leadership.

descargaConcept Media agency has been chosen by notebooks and school parts company Ledesma, to be in charge of the ‘Back to School’ campaign for the brand Exito. The campaign will take place at the launching of the new notebooks line and can be seen from this week.

 

  • OLX / Brazil

K3lHSAXG_400x400OLX, a firm devoted to online classifieds, has assigned its advertising account to Ogilvy & Mather. Thus, the agency will begin to develop the new brand positioning in the local market. In addition to the winner, in the pitch they also participated DM9 Rio, Lew’Lara’TBWA, We and NBS.
