LUNA United, the modern content production agency within the communications group UNITED COLLECTIVE, announced that Adrian Castagna has joined as Head of Integrated Production. Nancy Dubuc has been named CEO of Vice Media. Vice co-founder Shane Smith will take a new role as executive chairman. The news was announced a day after Dubuc stepped down from her position at A+E Networks.

 

 

 

 

 

Walt Disney Co. is reorganizing to create a direct-to-consumer and international unit. Kevin Mayer, Disney’s chief strategy officer since 2015, was named chairman of the new unit. The reorganization leaves Disney with four segments. In addition to the new unit, there are Media Networks; Studio Entertainment and a segment that combines Parks, Experiences, and Consumer Products.

BBC has named Kerris Bright as chief customer officer. In this newly-created role, she’ll be responsible for developing a “closer, more personal relationship” between the organization and consumers, namely license fee payers and those signing in to BBC services, the corporation said.

 

 

 

 

Jesús Chávez has been promoted from SVP of Operations to Chief Operating Officer at Latino digital media company mitú. Based in the company’s Los Angeles headquarters, he reports to CEO Herb Scannell.

Ogilvy Miami has announced the incorporation of two new creatives that will help expand the firm’s reach in the United States Hispanic market. Uriel Sanchez will take the role of Art Creative Director and Carlos Cervantes Perk will be Copy Creative Director. Both creatives have experience working at Ogilvy Mexico.

 

 

J. Walter Thompson Co. has announced it is eliminating the position of worldwide chief creative officer. Matt Eastwood, who has held that position since July 2014, will leave to “pursue other interests.”

Simpleshow offers customized and interactive explanation videos for marketing, training, education and sales. Among his responsabilities, he will contribute to help customers explain their product or idea through the production of concise explainer videos. simpleshow clients include Microsoft, American Express, BMW, J&J, McDonalds, among others. Meyer was previously  Vice President of Digital Strategy at Forward Equity Partners. Before working at Forward Equity Partners he was employed  Televisa Publishing as Director of Digital Media Operations USA & International Markets. Before that he occupied a senior position at Publicitas Latin America.

RoLuque - Don-drigo Luque, an accounts area professional with over 20 years experience,  has joined Don as CEO, as said by Papon Ricciarelli, founder and CEO of the agency.Luque worked at Graffitti DMB & B, JWT, FCB, Agulla & Baccetti, Lowe and Ogilvy & Mather, always on the accounts sector. Now, his challenge is to lead strategic projects for current and future brands of Don Argentina.

Orero Tacho, former country manager at Hi-Media, has joined Maxus as head of digital.He will report directly to Carmen Novo, CEO of the company.

Gordon_Domingos-McGarryBowen, an US agency acquired by Aegis Dentsu , has confirmed his arrival in Brazil. The new office will be based in Sao Paulo and will integrate global creative hubs currently operating in New York, Chicago, London, Dusseldorf and Shanghai. Alexei Orlov-Agency RAPP, part of the Omnicom Group, has announced the appointment of Alexei Orlov as its´CEO to be effective in July. He will report directly to Dale A. Adams, president and CEO of the Group companies. Orlov Rapp comes from Volkswagen where he was CMO for China & ASEAN region. Prior to this, he was Senior Partner at The Partnership.

VeronicaCano-Veronica Cano has joined Wunderman Argentina to direct the shopper marketing area. Amongher new responsibilities, Cano will focus on customer care for current customers the agency has such as :  Coca Cola, Movistar and Mabe, among others. In addition, she will be responsible for the diagnosis, development and implementation of strategic programs in order to generate new business for both existing customers and potential new ones.

David Hoover is Medula Network‘s new Senior Director for the U.S. Hispanic and Latin American markets. Hoover is s in charge of online media planning and buying and the development, presentation, execution, management, analysis and optimization of online marketing/advertising campaigns. Until recently Hoover worked at Miami based ad placement firm US Media Consulting.

Fred-MedinaBBC Worldwide announced Fred Medina as its new Executive Vice-President (EVP) for Latin America with effect from 12 September.

In this newly-created BBC Worldwide role, Medina will be responsible for BBC Worldwide’s strategic development in Latin America and in the US Hispanic market, delivering new brands, products and services initiatives to drive future revenue growth across the region. He will be based in Miami and will report to Jana Bennett, President, Worldwide Networks.

The new role reflects BBC Worldwide’s stated strategic aim of driving international revenue growth and an increased focus on regional opportunities, and will see similar roles created for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and for Asia, in addition to existing positions for North America and for Australia and New Zealand.

eddy.ruizA+E Networks Latin America has promoted Eddy Ruiz to President and General Manager of A+E Networks Latin America. Ruiz will be in charge of the brands A&E, History and Bio, and will be responsible for the new brands and the expansion in Brazil.

Ruiz has previously worked for HBO Latin America, the Weather Channel International and Gems Televisión.

 

 

james.billfredCondé Nast International has led a $20m investment round in Farfetch, an e-commerce marketplace for independent fashion boutiques. As part of the investment, Condé Nast International Digital president James Bilefield will join the Farfetch board.

The Farfetch website currently has 4.3 million visits per month. The company has $129m annual sales with a current growth rate of more than 145%. Farfetch has offices in London, Portugal, Los Angeles and Brazil and operates in more than 140 countries.
