He will report directly to Enrique R. Mart\u00ednez, President and Managing Director of Discovery Networks Latin America\/U.S. Hispanic and Canada.As GM for Discovery U.S. Hispanic, Navarrete is responsible for leading the business expansion within the company\u2019s portfolio of Spanish-language networks in the U.S. which include Discovery en Espa\u00f1ol and Discovery Familia. Navarrete started his career at Discovery in 1995, holding several senior positions within the distribution side of the business across Latin America, Spain and Portugal. In 2005, he transferred to Discovery\u2019s global headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland to assume the position of vice president for channel distribution for the U.S. Hispanic market. Prior to that, he served as vice president for Latin American sales at NBC Universal International Television Distribution.<\/p>\n <\/a>Angela Recio Sondon<\/strong> will continue to report to Carolina Lightcap, Head of Content for Discovery Networks Latin America\/U.S. Hispanic.In her role as VP of Content for Discovery U.S. Hispanic, Recio Sondon will be responsible for the strategy and implementation of programming, marketing (off-air and on-air), communications and digital efforts for Discovery en Espa\u00f1ol and Discovery Familia. In addition, she will communicate brand strategies and act as liaison with the advertising and affiliate sales units of the company.Recio Sondon began her career at Discovery in 2005 working in various senior capacities within the content area, most recently, as vice president of program sourcing and acquisitions for DLA\/USH. She first joined Discovery as Director of Programming and Production for Discovery U.S. Hispanic.<\/p>\n <\/a>Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) has announced the promotion of Roberto Ruiz<\/strong> to executive vice president, Strategy and Insights, effective immediately. Ruiz will continue to report to Kevin Conroy, Chief Strategy & Data Officer and President, Enterprise Development, and will remain based in New York.Ruiz first joined UCI in 2008 as vice president of Strategy & Insights. Additionally, Ruiz has worked closely with research partners to improve the way their syndicated products represent the Hispanic consumer.Ruiz is a marketing expert with more than 20 years of experience in senior management roles. Ruiz holds an MBA in International Business and a MA in International Economics from The George Washington University and a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidad Central de Venezuela.<\/p>\n <\/a>Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) has appointed Sameer Deen<\/strong> to the position of senior vice president, Univision Digital. He will be based in Miami and report to Isaac Lee, president of News and Digital for UCI and CEO of Fusion.In this new role at UCI\u2019s digital division, Deen will be responsible for establishing and leading the digital strategy to reach new audiences by enhancing the user experience across UCI\u2019s growing digital and mobile portfolio, expanding digital offerings and maximizing digital-linear TV integration.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/a>Laurie Silverman<\/strong> has assumed the position of VP, Strategic Partnerships & National Accounts at Eclipse Marketing Services, Inc. \nDiscovery Networks Latin America\/U.S. Hispanic (DLA\/USH), a division of Discovery Communications, has announced the appointment of Allan Navarrete <\/strong>as General Manager (GM) and Angela Recio Sondon<\/strong> as the Vice President (VP) of Content for the company\u2019s U.S. Hispanic division. Both appointments are effective immediately and based in Mexico City and Miami respectively.<\/p>\n
\n<\/a>BBC Worldwide has appointed Anna Gordon<\/strong> as EVP for LATAM and the US Hispanic market.She will be based at the company\u2019s regional headquarters in Miami and report to Paul Dempsey, president for global markets. Gordon will oversee all of BBC Worldwide\u2019s businesses in Latin America, being accountable for profit and loss statements and strategic decisions in 19 territories, and having responsibility for delivering new brands, products and service initiatives, as well as continuing to drive future revenue growth.She will replace Fred Medina.<\/p>\n
