Ronald MendezRonald Mendez is the new Managing Director of Marketing and Business Development at Out of Home Company Starlite Media. He is based in New York. Until last week Mendez worked as VP Group Account Director at Havas Media in New York City, managing several accounts including Philips.

 

Daniel Rosas Ocejo, until  recently Multicultural Marketing Director at Kellogg’s, launched his own company Bebenook.com based in Panama City. Bebenook.com is a e-commerce site offering all mothers need for their babies (diapers, shampoo etc). The goods are delivered to the home via a private distribution network.

TerraDigital Media company Terra announced the promotion of the current Products Director, Luciane Aquino, as the new Chief Media Officer (CMO) and Rafael Kuhn as the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In her new role, Luciane Aquino will lead Editorial, Terra TV, Content Alliances & Negotiation and Mobile & Social Media, as well as Portal Products.

Univision Communications announced that Jorge Viera, “Noticiero Univision” (Univision News) correspondent, will join WXTV Univision 41’s primetime newscasts as a reporter effective Monday, September 2, 2013. Beginning Monday, September 16, 2013, he will co-anchor the 11 p.m. newscast alongside EMMY award-winning Adriana Vargas. Veteran news anchor Rafael Pineda will continue to co-anchor the 6 p.m. newscast and work on special assignments.

Angelica Balderas has been named senior vice president of integrated marketing solutions at Entravision Communications in Sacramento.

Univision Communications also  announced that Lara Migliassi has been promoted to senior vice president, Corporate Marketing. Migliassi, who has been part of Univision’s marketing team for 10 years, most recently served as vice president, Corporate Marketing for the past two years. Migliassi will continue to be based in Univision’s Miami office and report to Ruth Gaviria, executive vice president, Corporate Marketing.

Miguel Angel Chala has been appointed  Partner  at BrandInk Media Puerto Rico.

Fusion announced that David Javerbaum – 12-time Emmy-Award Winner and Former Executive Producer and Head Writer for “The Daily Show” – is joining Fusion, the new network of ABC and Univision.

A new appointment in the Multicultural Health Care Marketing Sector: Steve Millerman joins Prime Access from Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, where most recently he led the cross-cultural marketing capability.

As head of cross-cultural at Novartis, Millerman, a speaker at Portada’s 6th Annual Hispanic Advertising and Media Conference last year,  oversaw corporate and brand-specific strategy across key US ethnic groups. In addition to this role, Millerman played an active role on the Executive Diversity and Inclusion Council where he successfully drove value of D&I impact on Novartis’s business.  “When it comes to health care, US multicultural groups continue to be significantly underserved and underreached by traditional marketing and communications methods,” Millerman, said in an announcement made today by Prime Access. “These are the fastest growing US populations that already account for over a third of our demographic makeup, presenting a tremendous opportunity for health care companies to increase their reach, business impact, and help address certain health care disparities.”

Last fall Prime Access, the agency Millerman is now joining, was acquired by Global Advertising Strategies, to create an independently-owned healthcare marketing agency that focuses on reaching US Hispanic, African-American, Asian-American, LGBT, and other diverse US populations. In March this year, Casanova Pendrill and McCann HumanCare announced a partnership  for a Hispanic Pharma Marketing venture called  HumanCareHSP.
