descarga-4Transportation network and technology company Uber launched its signature debit card network in Latin America, in cooperation with FinTech bank Bankaool. Bankaool is a Latin American online FinTech bank that offers various financial services, including Mastercard debit card issuance. The firm is mostly focused on mobile banking, which enables its consumers to control virtually any financial settlement and tasks online, via mobile.The Uber signature debit card, for instance, can be accessed internationally via the web or mobile. Like traditional bank-issued debit cards, consumers can buy online, make free transfers and manage balances on the Bankaool mobile application.For Uber, the debit and credit card penetration rate is crucial as the entire platform is based on the two payment options. Without debit and credit cards, users cannot use Uber to travel around.#YourUberCardforEverything (#TuTarjetaUberParaTodo) can be used to pay at movie theaters, stores or restaurants, as well as ecommerce and mobile apps that accept Mastercard, both in Mexico and internationally, and even to withdraw cash at ATMs.

  • Hilton

bbThe Latin American hospitality market continues to undergo what might be called a “slow boom,” and Hilton brands are in the thick of it. Hilton currently has more than 16,000 rooms across a portfolio of more than 90 hotels and resorts in Latin America, in addition to a development pipeline of more than 60 projects throughout the region. Those projects span Argentina, Belize, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay, with Mexico, Colombia and Peru driving the largest percentage of Hilton’s growth. In all, Hilton is on schedule to have its 100th hotel in Latin America by year’s end. A few Hilton brand milestones in new markets include: Hampton by Hilton Santa Cruz, Bolivia; Hilton Garden Inn properties in Guatemala, Brazil, Peru and Uruguay; DoubleTree by Hilton hotels in Colombia; Curio – A Collection by Hilton hotel in Argentina; The Hilton Santiago Las Condes, the company’s first Hilton Hotels & Resorts property in Chile. “In Latin America, we see significant growth and continued interest in development, thanks to steadier political landscapes, stable economies, a growing middle class and a push to generate tourism,” said Ted Middleton, senior vice president of development, Latin America for Hilton.

descargaMoney transfer service Western Union has appointed MullenLowe Mediahub to be its global media agency of record in a consolidated £250m account following a review that started back in May. MullenLowe Profero has been Western Union’s global digital media agency since 2006.MullenLowe Mediahub has created Team Union to serve the account, which will be based in London with 16 regional hubs across the Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas and local media buying in other countries.Western Union has reported advertising costs of US$166.3 million in 2015. In the U.S., it spent around US$20 million on measured media last year, according to Kantar Media.

 

  • Mars

descarga-2Mars has kicked off a media buying review in the U.K., China, India, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Southeast Asia.Mars consolidated its global planning business with WPP’s MediaCom in December 2014. Neither the U.S. nor LatAm will be affected by the review. The company owns brands including M&M’s, Snickers, Twix, Dolmio, Uncle Ben’s and Pedigree, splits out its media planning and buying operations.

 

 

  • Hilton

descargaHilton has outlined its plans to drive expansion in Latin America. Based on Hilton’s second quarter 2016 results and for the 12 months ended June 30, Hilton has opened approximately 20 new hotels in Latin America and has signed nearly 30 deals. Hilton now has more than 16,000 rooms trading across a portfolio of more than 90 hotels and resorts in Latin America. Additional hotels are expected to open by the end of this year in Colombia, Honduras, Mexico and Peru.Hilton maintains a strong pipeline of more than 50 projects and more than 7,750 rooms across Argentina, Belize, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. Hilton’s current portfolio in Latin America includes 10 brands, while its expansion plans in the region span seven of the company’s existing brands: Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Curio – A Collection by Hilton, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton, with approximately 70% of the projects driven by focused-service brands.

 

  • Infinity Media FCB

nnnnAgency FCB Buenos Aires has announced the launch of its’ new media unit Infinity Media FCB, which will be led by Daniel Bloise. The agency will work aligned with those customers who require their services, providing expertise for brands that look for solidity and innovation in this area.

k8fo1be9_400x400As part of its expansion in Latin America, MullenLowe Profero will open an office in Colombia. The company will start operating from October. The agency has chosen Colombia as the second Latin-American country to open an office, following Brazil. The new unit will provide processes, methodologies and unique tools, accompanied by a know-how that contributes to the further growth of its’ business in Colombia. MullenLowe Profero is Mullen Lowe Group’s global digital marketing agency, which operates 15 offices worldwide and has more than 750 employees. The division works for brands like Unilever, Primark, Virgin Trains, Peninsula Hotels and Western Union, among others.

descargaHilton worldwide has announced the signing of an agreement to open eight new Hampton by Hilton properties in Latin America, including four in Peru and four in Chile, making it the biggest development for the brand in the region in recent years. The agreement is a continuation of the partnership between Hilton Worldwide and Colombia-based Metro Hotels, which last week opened Hampton by Hilton Cali, Colombia.

“Our intention is to continue our growth strategy in Latin American countries with stable and healthy economies,” said Felipe Galeano, development manager, Metro Hotels.

 

Ogilvy-Huawei-Huawei , Costa Rican information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider , has chosen Ogilvy & Mather as its´ agency to handle integrated communications. Steve Yanggang, brand manager, said Ogilvy & Mather showed a deeper understanding of the digital ecosystem.

Nuria Andres, agency accounts and integration director, said that the Costa Rican market has enough development margins in the digital environment and Huawei has a technological nature.

 

powerade-Powerade, the official hydrator of Argentinian Soccer Team and 2014 World Cup in Brazil, has released its comprehensive campaign for the World Cup starring soccer star Maxi Rodriguez. The brand has also launched a 995ml new bottle and a special and limited packaging edition with Argentinian team images.

The integrated communication campaign, outlined under the concept “Hay Power” (There is Power), consists of two television commercials, graphic and public road parts.
