(“Tres Coracoes”), a Joint Venture of Strauss Coffee B.V., and São Miguel Holdings, is announcing the signing of an agreement with Cia Iguaçu, the 2nd market leader of the instant coffee segment in Brazil.Cia Iguacu is a private Company belonging to the Japanese Marubeni Corporation group that has diversified operations, also in the food industry.The agreement between the companies concludes the acquisition of the Cia Iguacu’s retail brands of coffee and derivatives in Latin America, including Brazil (the brands; Iguacu, Cruseiro and Amigo) as well as a production agreement.The agreement is subject to regulatory approvals in Brazil.This acquisition will strengthen the leadership of Tres Coracoes group in the Brazilian coffee and its derivatives market. The acquisition enables the company to export other products in its portfolio to Latin America through the well-established export capabilities of Cia Igaucu’s trademarks.

images (1)Appliance-maker KitchenAid has picked JeffreyGroup to manage its marketing and communications in Latin America.The agency has worked with the Whirlpool division in the past, including supporting the launch of the Magnetic Drive Blender in eight markets in Latin America and the Caribbean last year with an influencer marketing campaign. KitchenAid has since expanded the firm’s responsibilities to include other products.JeffreyGroup has developed a communications program for this year that describes how the brand plays a part in the lifestyle passions of Latin American consumers, including subjects such as cooking, baking, health, and wellness.The agency works with clients targeting Latin America, including Airbnb, American Airlines, Facebook, and Johnson & Johnson. Its headquarters are in Miami, with offices in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and New York.

This is a multiplatform effort with specific content for each of the zodiac signs. The campaign was under Joaquín Cubría and Ignacio Ferioli general direction and directed by Marcelo Burgos.

Cinemex, one of the largest group of cinemas in Mexico, has confirmed its expansion plan in the U.S. and Latin America to increase its market share through a US$100 million investment that will allow to open 25 centers, in addition to analyze the opportunities Latin America offers. The firm expects to open 25 new facilities in 2016. For that matter, the company expects to invest about US$100 million this year and around US$500 million the next five years, as part of its growth strategy. Cinemex will open cinemas in the United States (the first in Miami) and will open four other resorts in the US territory: one in Florida, two in New Jersey and one in Illinois, hopefully by 2017. The company has been also evaluating the possibility of entering other markets, primarily in Latin America, where they have received several offers.

descarga (3)Coca-Cola has unveiled a new “one brand” global marketing strategy and a new strapline in seven years, as the company aims  to align its brand approach across international markets, Mandmglobal has reported.The company is leaving behind its ‘Open Happiness’ campaign, launched in 2009, and introducing the new tagline ‘Taste the Feeling’. The brand will now advertise its range of products – Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coca-Cola Zero and Coca-Cola Life – under a single campaign.A series of ads, including 10 TV creatives, will roll out globally featuring a new music soundtrack by Conrad Sewell. The ads were created by four agencies: Mercado-McCann, Sra. Rushmore, Santo, and Oglivy & Mather New York.Coke has also teamed up with producer-DJ Avicii to record songs for the campaigns promoting its sponsorship of Rio Olympic Games and UEFA Euro 2016 football tournament.The new ‘One Brand’ approach will share the equity of Coca-Cola, across all Coca-Cola Trademark products, reinforcing our commitment to offer consumers choice with more clarity.

  • LATAM Airlines

CmBZsd2j_400x400LATAM Airlines has signed a joint business deal with IAG(International Airlines Group) and  British Airways and Iberia on flights between Europe and South America. The joint business would benefit customers by providing better links between Europe and South America, greater choice of flights and enhanced frequent flyer benefits. The airlines plan to seek approval from the appropriate competition authorities in South America and will inform the regulatory authorities in the European Union. Under the joint business, British Airways, Iberia and LATAM Airlines Group would cooperate commercially on flights between the European Union and South America. They would expand their codeshare arrangements on flights between and within Europe and South America, significantly increasing the number of destinations that the airlines can offer customers. The agreement would also strengthen the oneworld alliance in which all the airlines are members. Customers would be able to travel more easily on the airlines’ combined route network which would serve more than 100 destinations in South America and 87 destinations in Europe. The airlines would expand customer choice via integrated networks, new non-stop routes, additional frequencies on existing routes and combined fares.

descarga (5)Ogilvy & Mather Argentina has developed Blem’s new campaign “Querelos como son,” which seeks to strengthen the bond and closeness with consumers of the brand, according to Adlatina. With this new campaign, Blem aims all people to care for their objects similarly, without discriminating for their appearance or shape. The campaign features a 30 second spot and two additional 15 second versions of each, for the brand’s latest releases: Blem 3 en 1 and Blem Superficies Delicadas y Electrónicos. Additionally, 6 exclusive pieces were created based on tutorials on how to use the products and revealing also a little more of the story behind the characters in the campaign. Is the first time the brand is working on a communication campaign for the brand as a whole and not specifically for a particular product.

The famous “Hotel Nacional” in Río will reopen after a thorough renovation. Built in 1972, the hotel has been closed for several decades, and has now been taken over by Meliá Hotels International with the challenge of returning it to its former glory with the service standards expected of the Gran Meliá hotel brand. descarga (3)The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company announced it will combine its North America and Latin America businesses into one Americas business unit, effective January 1, 2016. The combined business will serve customers and consumers more effectively and efficiently by integrating processes such as product development, market forecasting, and product supply. All manufacturing plants in the combined region, including the new Americas plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, scheduled to open in 2017, will be leveraged to serve all customers in Mexico, Latin America and North America. The new structure will give Goodyear greater flexibility to anticipate market changes and react faster to them.

Already, its increased promotional activities at exhibitions and events in the Asia-Pacific region . But now, Latin America is a new focus of marketing activity for the Osaka-based company.Starting in 2016, the company plans to exhibit at the Duty Free Show of the Americas in Orlando, through which it will promote Choya’s attractiveness for airlines and the Central and South American duty free markets. The main products will be Gold Edition and the Extra Series.Gold Edition is a super-premium product within Choya’s extensive range, with handmade production of no more than 500 bottles a day. Based on French brandy, Gold Edition uses only premium nanko ume fruit, which is high in citric acid and other vitamins. Extra Series (Extra Years, Extra Shiso, Royal Honey) is the core Choya range, carefully produced using a traditional method by steeping ume fruit in alcohol with added sugar. Extra Years is aged for two to three years to achieve a very balanced taste, while the Japanese herb shiso adds a slightly bitter tang and natural red colour to Extra Shiso. Royal Honey uses only natural clover honey with royal jelly instead of sugar.

  • “Big King Tattoo”/Brazil

An online film, featuring five Big Mac fanatics from around the world, debuts on the brand’s YouTube channel. The film documents an unprecedented chance and challenge to some of the world’s biggest burger fans, to change allegiance from a main competitor’s signature sandwich to the flame-grilled Big King sandwich. In the film, five individuals from Brazil, Taiwan, the United States, Spain and Italy tell their stories. Each loves the Big Mac sandwich with a feeling so strong that they had it tattooed in a place of prominence. These burger-lovers were invited to travel to Brazil and participate in a real test that might just leave them with an unforgettable mark. Accepting the challenge, the team was flown to Brazil where the adventure began in a Burger King restaurant in Sao Paulo. Each of the five individuals tried the Big King sandwich and it was love at first bite. But that was only the beginning. After experiencing the great flame-grilled taste of the Big King sandwich, the opportunity for a true transformation presented itself. Ami James, a global icon in the tattoo world and internationally known for his reality show Miami Ink, surprised the group inviting them to get their tattoos retouched to reflect the reason for the great taste of their new favorite burger. The Big King sandwich campaign will launch with the 3-minute film, and will be shortly followed by in-store promotions and social media activations.   • Sky Airlines / Chile

Carles Puig will be the DGC in charge, while Oscar Lizarralde will handle everything related to the account services as VP& client services. Sky Airlines becomes the second account Grey Chile has won in the last three months, when in April the agency won Talianni. Sky Airlines joins Grey’s client list, which includes accounts such as Coca Cola, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Talianni, among others.
