Jorge Guglielmone, CEO of Mindshare in Latin America, announced the appointment of Lilia Barroso as Chairwoman and Tonatiuh Hernandez as CEO, both for Mindshare Mexico.

20d01d9Fútbol De Primera Radio Network (FDP), the Hispanic sports radio network, announced that broadcast sales executive Robert Pantanini is returning to Fútbol De Primera Radio Network as Executive Vice President Network Sales, effective immediately. Pantanini will once again lead the radio network’s sales force, focusing on 2016 Copa America Centenario, 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, Mexican National Team matches, and FIFA World Cup qualifying matches leading into the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. Pantanini served as FDP Radio’s EVP, Network Sales from 2007 to 2015. During Pantanini’s tenure, he oversaw day-to-day operations and was responsible for growing the network’s client base and ad revenue.

Mr. Scott’s departure is the second leadership change in under a month for McGarryBowen, after Simon Pearce ,president and chief client officer, departure. Scott started at McGarryBowen as managing director in 2009, two years after McGarryBowen opened the Chicago office.McGarryBowen said it will begin a search for a new Chicago president with the added title of chief client officer. Laurel Flatt, who has been group managing director on accounts like Disney, will be interim general manager of the Chicago office while the agency looks for a new leader.

Peri was most recently senior director of product marketing and solutions at Salesforce.com. Prior to that, he held assorted roles at Blackrock and at UBS.

descarga (1)Antonio Lucio, chief brand officer at Visa Inc., who oversees marketing, advertising and communications, is leaving the company to join Hewlett-Packard Co. The executive, of 55, has been working in Visa since 2007. His departure will take effect on April 24.

Why it matters: Consumers from Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Chile, will have full access to new product lines never available before in Latin America.

bbcBBC Worldwide, the main commercial arm of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), announced the appointment of EXIM Licensing Group, a Miami headquarted company that is in the business of licensing, promotion and entertainment throughout Latin America, to represent BBC brands for all licensing ventures in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Chile.

Following the appointment, EXIM will have full access to the BBC’s award winning portfolio including brands like Doctor Who, Top Gear and Walking with Dinosaurs. Along with BBC Worlwide, it will work to build a long term licensing program and partner with market retailers and brands to increase BBC brands and merchandise footprint in the market. In addition to merchandise, EXIM will also pursue partnerships in live events and promotions on behalf of BBC Worldwide.

Consumers will have full access to new product lines never available before in Latin America. Initial stock will be available in the upcoming months.

BBC Entertainment is  broadcasted in 15 countries in Latin America and the company continues to work on expanding the distribution  to other Spanish-speaking countries, while continuing to provide a greater variety of new programming content.

BBC WorldwideBBC Worldwide announced a new leadership team for its Business and Operational Units in the U.S. Hispanic market and Latin America based in Miami. All new executives will be reporting to Fred Medina, Executive VP and General Manager of BBC Worldwide for Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market. Medina reports to Paul Dempsey, president of Global Markets at BBC Worldwide. Karen Harrison is the new VP of Finance, she will be in charge of developing and managing all aspects of the financial performance  of BBC in Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market. Harrison joins BBC Worldwide after having worked at Bilzoo Media & Broadband as CFO. Alejandra Olea, is the new VP of Integrated Sales. Olea will be leading the team responsible for channel distribution, program and format sales and will also be responsible for supervising the development of  additional revenue streams. Olea most recently worked at DIRECTV Latin America. Janel Downing is the new Director of Formats and Coproductions and will be reporting to Olea.  David Hanono is the new Director for Digital Development. In this newly created position Hanono will be leading the development of the digital business in the region. Prior to BBC Worldwide Hanono was Director of Sales Development for Mobile at Univision Communications. Rafael Álamo, is the new Human Resources Manager. Alamo will be in charge of personnel management and organizational culture.The following executives were already part of the BBC team for Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market and will continue to do so. Robert HoSang has been named director, business development at research firm Latinum Network. He has been tasked with expanding new business opportunities and potential revenue streams among Latinum’s current member roster. Most recently, HoSang was account director at Havas Media, handling partnership development and strategic planning and insights for clients including McDonald’s, Moët Hennessy and Philips Norelco.

Univision Communications announced that Sarah Madigan has been promoted to the newly created position of executive vice president of Content Distribution. Madigan joined the company in 2011, and most recently served as senior vice president of Business Affairs. She will continue to be based in Univision’s New York headquarters and will report to Tonia O’Connor, president of Content Distribution and Corporate Business Development. In her new position, Madigan will oversee content sales and strategy for digital and linear distribution.

Technology and Market Research firm Geoscape is launching a new unit that will provide a wide range of primary multicultural research services, leveraging the company’s existing data and technology. The division will be led by Hispanic and multicultural specialist Raul Lopez, who joins from Phoenix Marketing International where he led the Multicultural unit. He will be supported by Senior Client Advisor Jeronima Pilar, who also joins from Phoenix.

Thomas Brown has a new position as Sales Consultant at Coed Media Group, a college lifestyle blogging,  publishing, and marketing solutions company. Brown previously worked as Director Sales Northeast Region at Orange Advertising Network. He started his new job at the end of June. Prior to Orange, Brown worked at advertising agency Ad Pepper.

Alvaro PalaciosAlvaro Palacios  joined DLA in May as Chief Revenue Office (CRO) and is responsible for leading and directing the Sales and Marketing departments in the company. DLA development of entertainment products for VOD platforms in Latin America and the Caribbean.Alvaro leads the planning and development of strategies and initiatives aimed at increasing the company’s revenue. He also plays an important part in defining a corporate culture and direction, as well as implementing international strategies to stimulate affiliate and ad sales and other potential sources of revenue. Before joining DLA, Alvaro was vice president and managing director of PRISA in Miami, where he led the development of strategic alliances and digital products, as well as marketing and sales strategies for the US and Latin American digital markets. Previously, he was regional business development director at Terra Networks USA-Latin America,

Anhelo Reyes (foto) is joining Fusion, the new network for Hispanics from ABC and Univision, as the network’s first Vice President of Marketing.   Anhelo will lead all branding, marketing and promotion. She is based at our headquarters in Miami. Most recently, Anhelo was Nickelodeon’s vice president for strategic property planning and marketing, where she was responsible for the launch and long-term strategic marketing plans for three of the company’s most important properties – SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Winx Club. In addition, Fusion announced that Mark Lima is its new Vice President of News. A 25-year news veteran, Mark was most recently part of the team at “Nightline” that made the show the #1 program in late night and won a prestigious Peabody Award for coverage of Superstorm Sandy. At “Nightline” Mark was responsible for developing stories and leading digital and social media integration. His experience has been invaluable to Miguel Ferrer and the Digital team as Fusion charts a course for close collaboration between digital, social and television news coverage. Mark spent four years in Los Angeles as deputy bureau chief for ABC News.  He managed day-to-day coverage of news assignments for the western bureaus and won a pair of Emmys in 2008 for reports on the fires sweeping through Malibu.

David Hoover is Medula Network‘s new Senior Director for the U.S. Hispanic and Latin American markets. Hoover is s in charge of online media planning and buying and the development, presentation, execution, management, analysis and optimization of online marketing/advertising campaigns. Until recently Hoover worked at Miami based ad placement firm US Media Consulting.

Fred-MedinaBBC Worldwide announced Fred Medina as its new Executive Vice-President (EVP) for Latin America with effect from 12 September.

In this newly-created BBC Worldwide role, Medina will be responsible for BBC Worldwide’s strategic development in Latin America and in the US Hispanic market, delivering new brands, products and services initiatives to drive future revenue growth across the region. He will be based in Miami and will report to Jana Bennett, President, Worldwide Networks.

The new role reflects BBC Worldwide’s stated strategic aim of driving international revenue growth and an increased focus on regional opportunities, and will see similar roles created for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and for Asia, in addition to existing positions for North America and for Australia and New Zealand.

eddy.ruizA+E Networks Latin America has promoted Eddy Ruiz to President and General Manager of A+E Networks Latin America. Ruiz will be in charge of the brands A&E, History and Bio, and will be responsible for the new brands and the expansion in Brazil.

Ruiz has previously worked for HBO Latin America, the Weather Channel International and Gems Televisión.

 

 

james.billfredCondé Nast International has led a $20m investment round in Farfetch, an e-commerce marketplace for independent fashion boutiques. As part of the investment, Condé Nast International Digital president James Bilefield will join the Farfetch board.

The Farfetch website currently has 4.3 million visits per month. The company has $129m annual sales with a current growth rate of more than 145%. Farfetch has offices in London, Portugal, Los Angeles and Brazil and operates in more than 140 countries.
