Media consultancy MightyHive has announced the appointment of Rashaad Jamal as VP of Learning and Development. In this role, Jamal will fortify two internal programs (MightySchool and MightyResume) and create additional programs for the continued development of its on-boarding and up-skilling capabilities.





Esteban Abascal was appointed CEO of Interamerican Foods and La Moderna USA, and is now in charge of all the company’s operations in the United States. His company will take a big step in its mission of expansion in the U.S. market this year.





The Shipyard had appointed Kate Canel as its Director of Performance Media, a newly-created role in which she will lead all strategic programmatic planning initiatives and oversee the agency’s integration of digital advertising technologies that drive innovation and measurable client growth. In addition, Canel recently joined Portada’s Agency Star Committee.





PayPal has named Allison Johnson Chief Marketing Officer. This is PayPal’s first CMO since 2013. Johnson will be charged with leading strategic marketing for PayPal and its family of brands, which includes Venmo and iZettle.






Collage Group has announced the hiring of David Burgos as Sr. Director, Consumer Insights to lead the company’s custom insights business. Burgos most recently led Consumer Insights and Strategy at The Kraft Heinz Company.






Dan Pearce, ex-marketing head at Ticketmaster, has been named CMO by Virgin Experience Days. Pearce will be responsible for the development and delivery of marketing strategies designed to propel experiences rather than objects.





As reported by Media Moves, former Telemundo and Endemol Shine Latino executives Mauricio Piccone and Sergio Lazarov have teamed up to create and launch a new production company called Studio Pacifico, targeting U.S. Hispanic and Mexico markets.





MillerCoors has hired Kraft Heinz executive Michelle St. Jacques as its new CMO, replacing David Kroll, who left the position six months ago. She is the first-ever female CMO at MillerCoors, which was formed in 2008.

David Burgos is leaving Millward Brown to join TNS as Senior Vice president. In his new role, he will be responsible for instilling the market/multicultural perspective to TNS shopper & retail marketing. He will be with Millward Brown until the end of the month and start with TNS on February 3rd.

Entravision Communications announced that Andrew Polsky has been appointed to Vice President of National Digital Marketing Solutions. He will manage a team of national digital marketing solutions executives across the U.S., and will work closely with Entravision’s big data analytics division, Luminar. Polsky most recently served as the Vice President, Digital Media at Spanish Broadcasting System.

News Corporation announced the departure of Chief Executive Officer Lex Fenwick, and the naming of William Lewis as Interim CEO and plans to review Dow Jones’ institutional strategy.

Ibra MoralesIbra Morales was Named President Of MundoFox. He joins MundoFox after serving as Senior Vice President of National Marketing for the Katz Television Group. She also served as President of the Telemundo Station Group and as Senior Vice President of Sales for Hearst-Argyle Television.
Twitter hired marketing veteran Nuria Santamaria to the position of multicultural strategist, leading Twitter efforts to target black, Hispanic and Asian-American users.

After a week of speculation, Ezra Klein, the creator of The Washington Post’s Wonkblog, announced that he will be going to Vox Media, the online home of SB Nation, a sports site, and The Verge, a fast-growing technology site as well as the recently acquired Curbed real estate site network. The New York Times points out, that in making the switch, Mr. Klein is part of a movement of big-name journalists who are migrating from newspaper companies to digital start-ups. Walter Mossberg and Kara Swisher left Dow Jones to form Re/code with NBC. David Pogue left The New York Times for Yahoo and Nate Silver for ESPN.

Allan Infeld was promoted to vice president, client development of Telemundo. Based in New York he reports to Patty Marrero, Senior Vice President, Client Development. Infeld had previously served as Director, Client Development, Telemundo Media since joining the company in March 2013. he has also worked for Cablevision/Madison Square Garden/Fuse Television, where he was the Senior Vice President, Advertising Sales and New Business Development. In his new role, he will work with internal stakeholders and business units to oversee new client’s development for Telemundo Media. He will be responsible for identifying new ad categories and initiating and maintaining conversations with key advertisers.

Michele Cordoba has launched Vision Strategy and Insights (VSI) along with partners Brenda Lee and Iris Yim. VSI is a full-service research and strategic consulting firm specializing in the development and implementation of actionable research studies among general market, Hispanic, African-American and Asian consumers. VSI has already begun working with clients and agencies on a variety of research projects.
