Beam Suntory has announced Jessica Spence will fill the newly-created role of President of Brands, effectively replacing the Chief Marketing Officer. Spence will be responsible for managing the global P&Ls of Beam Suntory’s largest brands, which include the whisky brands Jim Beam and Maker’s Mark.







Toyota Motor North America announced that Cooper Ericksen will be promoted to Group Vice President, Product Planning and Strategy, effective Aug. 5. Ericksen has been with Toyota since 1991. He will replace Andrew Coetzee, who plans to retire on Aug. 2 after 31 years of service to Toyota.






Multi-channel engagement platform Leanplum has appointed Kate FitzGerald as President, effective immediately. Before joining Leanplum, FitzGerald was President of Americas Sales for Marketo







WPP’s Ford-dedicated agency GTB has announced the appointment of Robert Guay as CEO. Guay, who will replace Satish Korde in late July, will lead the evolution of the agency’s relationship with its flagship client, Ford Motor Company. Satish Korde will become Chairman Emeritus of GTB, assisting Ford on strategic projects. The announcement comes less than a year after Ford announced plans to divide its US $800-million creative business between several shops, moving away from GTB’s dedicated model.






AT&T’s WarnerMedia unit has named Ann Sarnoff as chair and CEO of Warner Bros. Sarnoff succeeds Kevin Tsujihara, who left after unethical behavior was discovered. Sarnoff will be based in Los Angeles and will officially join the company later this summer.






Eventbrite, a global ticketing and event technology platform, has announced the appointment of Casey Winters to Chief Product Officer. In this role, Winters will lead the global product management, design and research teams to drive innovation for event creators around the world.






Apple audio brand Beats by Dr Dre has appointed former Electronic Arts (EA)vice-president Chris Thorne as its Global Chief Marketing Officer, following a five-month search. Thorne will oversee the brand’s global marketing across all channels.






Wendy’s has promoted Carl Loredo to Chief Marketing Officer from his role as Vice-President of Brand Marketing, which he took on when he joined Wendy’s in 2016. He will report directly to Kurt Kane, who is being promoted to US president and chief commercial officer.

Jose Bello is moving from Hearts & Science, where he served as Senior Director of Total Market for the last 3 years, to a new role as Director, Multicultural and Latam at another Omnicom company: Icon International. Jose will be based out of the newly-opened satellite office in Fort Lauderdale.








After reporting a US $1.01 billion loss on its first quarterly financial report, Uber has announced that Barney Harford, the Chief Operating Officer, and Rebecca Messina, the Chief Marketing Officer, are both leaving the company. Jill Hazelbaker, who runs policy and communications, will add the marketing department to her portfolio. Messina’s tenure at Uber lasted just nine months.






NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations has appointed Jeffrey Stone as Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Stone will manage the financial operations for NBCUniversal’s division that includes 42 NBC and Telemundo owned stations, a regional news network, two multicast networks, and their subsidiary businesses.






GroupM announced a series of U.S. leadership changes implemented by Tim Castree, who was appointed North American CEO last December. Matt Sweeney has been appointed Chief Investment Officer, GroupM U.S. Lyle Schwartz has been promoted to Chief Integration Officer, GroupM U.S. Beth LeTendre has been named CEO of GroupM Performance U.S., where she will lead Xaxis and other performance marketing functions. Jill Kelly joins GroupM as U.S. CMO.





Alejandro Ortega is now SVP at Flimper. In his role, he will drive the company’s growth from its Miami offices.







Being Latino and HLC Media Group have announced a joint venture with the launch of BELatina, a new digital publication for the English-dominant, bicultural Latina. BELatina brings together two industry veterans—Lance Rios, Founder and President of Being Latino and Co-Founder of Supreme Digital, and Lisa Cavalli, Founder of HLC Media Group and HipLatina.

Montreal-based Sid Lee has tapped Andy Bateman as its first U.S. Chief Executive Oficer. Sid Lee, which is part of the Hakuhodo DY Holding’s Kyu group, hopes Bateman’s experience in digital, data and C-suite-level business consulting will help it to scale in the U.S.





New York Media, owner of New York Magazine, has named Jacqueline Cinguina as its first CMO. Previously head of sales marketing, Cinguina now takes on the larger task of unifying marketing efforts across New York Media’s brands and building out its e-commerce strategy.






Uwe Dreher is the new Vice President of Marketing at BMW North America, effective July 1. Dreher will serve as a member of the company’s executive management team and will oversee all marketing communication and product planning for the BMW brand within the U.S. market.






Tyson Foods has named Noelle O’Mara as its Chief Marketing Officer. Previously General Manager and Senior Vice President of Jimmy Dean and Tyson, O’Mara will be responsible for overseeing all of Tyson Foods’ brands including Jimmy Dean, Ball Park, and Hillshire Farm.






Location Sciences Group PLC has announced the appointment of Donald “Donnie” Williams as a non-executive director of the company with immediate effect. Donnie has worked at Horizon Media, Inc. for nearly 13 years and has served as Chief Digital Officer since 2010.

David Levy has been named CEO of OpenAP, the Fox group’s advanced advertising consortium. A founding member of OpenAP, Levy is Executive Vice President, digital revenue, advanced ad products and operations at Fox Corp.






For the first time ever, Omnicom Media Group has appointed a woman to a Global Chief Executive Role. Philippa Brown, who previously served as CEO for Omnicom Media Group U.K., has been promoted to the role of CEO for PHD Worldwide, effective July 1. She will be based in London and report to OMG CEO Daryl Simm.





Rahul Sabnis has been named Chief Creative Officer and Executive Vice President at TheStudio, a newly-branded in-house creative group at media company iHeartMedia. Rahul joins iHeartMedia from MullenLowe Profero, where he was Executive Creative Director and Head of Creative.





Groupon has appointed Craig Rowley as Global Chief Marketing Officer, replacing Vinayak Hegde. In this role, Rowley will oversee Groupon’s global marketing channel. He will report to Chief Operating Officer Steve Krenzer.






Dentsu Aegis Network has rearranged its U.S. media management team. Michael Law has been promoted to president of Amplifi, the group’s investment and innovation arm. He previously served as Executive Vice President/Managing Director, DAN, U.S. Media Investments. Andy Donchin, who has been the firm’s Chief Investment Officer, has been promoted to chairman of Amplifi. Lucas Cridland has been appointed to COO, DAN Media, U.S.



Bumble has hired Drew Jaz as its first Global Creative Director. He previously led the Intel account at Mcgarrybowen in San Francisco and worked closely with the brand’s now-defunct in-house shop, Agency Inside.

Omnicom has appointed Audrey Melofchik to President, DDB New York in addition to her current role overseeing Velocity OMC, Omnicom’s dedicated Johnson & Johnson agency. In her new role as dual President, she will have the same role and responsibilities at both agencies, reporting directly to Paul Gunning, President and COO of DDB U.S.




Leo Burnett has announced that executive chairman Mark Tutssel will retire after 34 years with the company. After a career as a leading creative director who helped drive Leo Burnett as a top agency, Tutssel will leave in June after aiding the transition process. He will work with Nick Law, chief creative officer of Publicis Groupe, and the Leo Burnett Global Creative Council, to aid its evolution.




Disney has tapped Fox Television Group’s CMO Shannon Ryan as President of Marketing for ABC Entertainment and Disney Television Studios. In this role, Ryan will overlook marketing, publicity, and communications for the network and Disney TV Studios.





LBI Media, a Spanish-language broadcasting company in the U.S., announced that it has appointed Wynette Gallegos Ortiz as director of sales for the Houston market. Ortiz has been with LBI Media since 2001. In this role, she will be responsible for staff recruitment, training, and development, as well as sales performance and revenue growth for LBI Media’s cluster of television and radio stations.




GroupM’s global data and measurement-driven media agency Essence has named Kyoko Matsushita the company’s first Global Chief Client Officer. Matsushita currently serves as Essence’s APAC CEO. She will continue to oversee the region as she transitions to her new global role.

The Kraft Heinz Company has appointed Miguel Patricio as CEO effective July 1, 2019. Patricio will succeed Bernardo Hees. Patricio will join the company after a successful career spanning two decades at Anheuser-Busch InBev, where he most recently served as Global CMO.





Digital trading platform Gumtree has announced the appointment of newly-installed CMO Claire Howard-Jones, who has assumed responsibility for marketing across Gumtree’s full product portfolio. She has two decades of experience with brands such as eBay, Amazon, Sainsbury’s, and British Airways.




Snapchat has named former McDonald’s marketer Kenny Mitchell as its first CMO. Mitchell will report directly to founder Evan Spiegel. He will be tasked with leading all consumer and product marketing for the business and its flagship app.




Amazon has hired Andrew Saunders to head its entertainment marketing division. Saunders has been tasked to educate customers by “building meaningful connections for them across entertainment and culture”. The marketer previously served as head of global brand strategy and marketing at Tastemade, a digital food and travel publisher.




LatinWorks, one of Austin’s most recognized advertising firms, announced that it is changing its name to Third Ear as part of a rebranding effort aimed at expanding its market capabilities. The decision is is not being directed by LatinWorks’ parent company, Omnicom Group, according to co-founder and CEO Manny Flores.




Omnicom Group media agency OMD USA is cutting five senior executive positions. The jobs being eliminated are: OMD East President Patty Sachs; OMD West President Greg Castronuovo; OMD Midwest President Lisa Bradner, CMO Laurel Rossi; and a managing director role at OMD Create, the agency’s innovation and prototyping unit, now held by Kerry Perse. The regional teams will report directly to OMD USA CEO John Osborn.

The Miami Dolphins announced the appointment of Sebastian Trujillo as Senior Director of Multicultural Partnerships. Trujillo will lead efforts to drive revenue through the multicultural sector. He brings vast experience in sales strategies, multi-year deal campaigns and brand development investments for the U.S. Hispanic market and Latin America.






Matthew Anderson is departing BBH New York to join Havas New York as CMO. This is a newly created position at parent Havas.







Havas Creative has appointed Tracey Barber, currently Group CMO UK & Europe, to the role of Global CMO, effective immediately. Additionally, Barber will continue to be responsible for the UK Group, where she oversees both its creative and media agencies.






GroupM agency Wavemaker has hired Adam Puchalsky, previously managing director of UM Studios North America, as Global Head of Wavemaker Content.







Omnicom Media Group CEO John Wren announced that the company is integrating its agencies Accuen (the group’s programmatic shop) and Resolution Media (specialized in search and social media) into its three main media agency brands: OMD, PHD, and Hearts & Science.

Twitter has appointed Katie Ford as new Head of Global Brands. Ford, former Chief Client Officer at Amobee, will be tasked with overseeing Twitter’s advertising partnerships and key brand accounts.






Omnicom Media Group’s agency PHD U.S. has named Anthony Koziarski as its first chief media officer. Koziarski joins from OMG’s performance marketing division Resolution Media. In his new position, Koziarski will focus on leading the development of custom media solutions, according to PHD.






Sephora has announced the promotion of Deborah Yeh to Chief Marketing Officer, while Karalyn Smith has risen through the ranks to Chief People Officer. Yeh most recently held the position of Senior Vice President of Marketing.







Papa John’s has appointed Karlin Linhardt as Global Chief Marketing Officer. Linhardt arrives from fellow fast-food chain Subway, where he served as Senior Vice president of Marketing for North America.






AdColony Inc. has announced that media industry veteran Matt Barash has rejoined AdColony as Head of Strategy and Business Development. His focus in this newly formed role is to lead marketplace strategy with a focus on increasing automation and transparency initiatives.

Nigel Morris, currently serving as a Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer ofthe Dentsu Aegis Network, has announced that he will step down from his position as of March, after 26 years at the company.







Publicis Media has announced the appointment of veteran Lauren Hanrahan to the role of CEO of Zenith US, Moxie, and MRY. In this role, she will be responsible for transforming Zenith’s roster of clients and accelerating the growth of the agency. Based in New York, she will report to Tim Jones, CEO, Publicis Media Americas, and succeeds Sean Reardon.







Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios has tapped former NBCUniversal and Nexstar Media Group executive Tom O’Brien as President of The Weather Channel, effective immediately. O’Brien also will hold the title of EVP of Allen Media, LLC. In his new position, O’Brien will oversee all television and digital operations of The Weather Channel television network and its streaming service Local Now.





Meredith Starkey has joined the Carolina Panthers as Chief Marketing Officer. Starkey prevoiusly spent nearly 10 years at T-Mobile, where she was Vice President of Marketing – Sponsorships and Events. Starkey will begin her new role in late March.





Cynthia Dickson is now Executive Director, Marketing & Media Strategy, at Native Tongue Communications, a new agency that has an exclusive partnership with OMD.






Prisa Brand Solutions has announced the appointment of Evelyn Adames, based in New York, and Edith Carranza, based in Miami, to lead the company’s sales strategy and business development in the United States.



Evelyn Adames brings more than 10 years of experience in guiding brand development using a total market approach. She has worked with Cox Media Group, Latina Media Ventures, and Spark Foundry, where she managed the clients’ accounts and strategic planning for advertisers and agencies.





Edith Carranza brings more than 20 years of experience in the U.S. and Latin American media industry. Prior to joining Prisa Brand Solutions, Carranza worked with Hola TV as the head of advertising sales, where she structured and set up new advertising sales business units, increasing ad revenue streams year after year.





Isobar promoted Ricardo Salema from Executive Creative Director to the newly created role of Chief Creative Officer for the U.S. He joined the agency 12 years ago.

Omnicom Media Group has tapped Scott Hagedorn, founder of Hearts & Science, as Chief Executive Officer, North America. Hagadorn will replace Page Thompson, who is retiring after more than four decades with the company.






Skyscanner has appointed Joanna Lord as its Chief Marketing Officer. Lord will be in charge of expanding the marketing department as well as boosting the brand and powering further global growth from its London HQ.






Lee Clow, the visionary behind campaigns like Apple’s “Think Different” and Adidas’s “Impossible is Nothing”, is retiring. The Global Director of Media Arts at worldwide advertising collective TBWA, and founder and Chairman of TBWA\Media Arts Lab, will move into an advisory role as Chairman Emeritus of the agency he founded in 2006 to, according to the press statement, “serve Apple and to embody his vision of an agency that impacts culture, rather than just ‘makes ads.”




National Instruments announced the appointment of Carla Piñeyro Sublett as its first Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). She will lead the global marketing efforts to elevate the company’s global brand, enhance customer engagement and identify efficiencies in proactive demand generation for growth.







Edelman has hired Judy John as its first global Chief Creative Officer. John, most recently Leo Burnett’s CEO of Canada and Chief Creative Officer of North America, will be based in Toronto and report to Richard Edelman, president and CEO.

Perkins Miller, who previously led StubHub GM/Americas, has been named CEO of fan-driven platform Fandom. He will continue to be based in San Francisco.







Adam Bonnett, former Disney Channels Worldwide EVP of Original Programming, has been appointed Executive Producer, Mattel Television. Bonnett will be responsible for global episodic content development and production for live action and animation based on the company’s iconic brands.





Apple has announced that Deirdre O’Brien, who has worked for the company for three decades, is has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Retail + People, reporting to CEO Tim Cook. She will fill the role following the departure of Angela Ahrendts in April.






Brian Wieser is joining WPP PLC’s media-agency conglomerate GroupM as Global President of Business Intelligence. In his new role, Wieser will work closely with GroupM’s agencies and WPP’s broader network to provide insights to clients.






Amazon has named Rosalind Brewer, the current Chief Operating Officer of Starbucks, to its board. Brewer is only the second African-American woman to sit on the company’s board in its 25-year existence.






Lime announced the appointment of Duke Stump to the position of Chief Marketing Officer. As Lime’s first-ever CMO, Stump will focus on uniting global marketing teams and furthering Lime’s mission to redefine urban mobility.







GAP has tapped Alegra O’Hare as senior VP and CMO. O’Hare was most recently VP of global brand communications at Adidas Originals and Style.

Chevrolet‘s global CMO Tim Mahoney will step down on March 1. During his tenure, Mahoney lead initiatives like the brand’s “Find New Roads” marketing platform. Prior to this, he worked as chief product and marketing officer at Volkswagen of America.





Ikea has promoted global Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Claudia Willvonseder has been promoted to general manager for the retailer’s Swiss operations. Peter Wright has become lead for Ikea’s global marketing. Willvonseder has served as global CMO since 2014 but has worked at Ikea since 2006 in a variety of marketing roles.




Philip Martzolf has been named President of NBC Affiliate Relations. Martzolf will join NBCUniversal from Sony Pictures Television, where he was executive VP of syndication, managing sales and marketing for first-run and off-network programming and domestic feature films.





WPP’s Group M has chosen Tim Castree to fill the vacant position of North America Chief Executive. Castree has been global Chief Executive of Wavemaker and its predecessor MEC since January 2017.






Ntooitive, a digital ad agency has announced Armando Guerrero is joining the team as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. Guerrero will be based in Los Angeles and responsible for managing partnerships for Ntooitive’s advertising technology platforms nationwide.

iProspect has promoted Brittany Richter to SVP, Head of Products and Services. Reporting to Michael Gullaksen, Chief Operating Officer at iProspect US, Richter is responsible for overseeing the delivery of all products and services at the agency, including search, social, SEO and display.





Iván Adaime has been appointed CEO of ImpreMedia. He previously occupied the position of Executive Vice President, Digital. Adaime succeeds Gabriel Dantur, who led the company since January 1, 2016.






Romina Rosado has been promoted to SVP, Digital Media at Telemundo, barely three months after joining the company as SVP of Noticias and Digital News. She’ll now lead digital, social, and mobile experiences for Hispanic audiences in the U.S. and abroad. Meanwhile, Borja Perez, who previously filled this role, assumes the newly-created position of SVP, Revenue Strategy, and Innovation.




Ogilvy has appointed Piyush Pandey to the role of Global Chief Creative officer, replacing Tham Khai Meng who was dismissed earlier this year following an internal investigation. Pandey is chairman of the group’s India office and will retain his current responsibilities but will also be tasked with upping the quality of creativity across the  Ogilvy network. He will remain based in Mumbai.





Lynn Lewis has been appointed UM‘s new U.S. CEO, confirms the division of IPG Mediabrands. Lewis, who has worked at the shop for 15 years and held multiple positions, most recently served as UM’s East Coast regional president and global CMO.





Nigel Vaz, chief executive EMEA and APAC for Publicis.Sapient, is to succeed Sarah Golding as the president of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA). Vaz will pick up the mantle from Golding, who is chief executive and partner at The &Partnership, when her two-year term comes to an end in March.





After almost four decades with Unilever, Chief Marketing Officer Keith Weed is to retire from the business. Weed will leave the role in May next year. Unilever has not yet announced a new CMO.

Diane Kniowski has been named President and Regional General Manager of Local Media at Univision. She’ll be reporting directly to Univision CEO Vincent Sadusky. Kniowski’s initial focus will be on leading Univision’s local television and radio stations in six top markets: Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Dallas, Houston, and Chicago.





Jason Peterson, the Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of Havas North America, has abruptly left the company. It was announced today that the creative will no longer work for the agency. In a statement, Havas confirmed employer and employee had reached a “mutual agreement”.






iProspect announced the promotion of Charlotte Polci to the newly-created role of VP of Integrated Solutions. Effective immediately, Polci will report directly to Jeremy Hull, SVP of Innovation at iProspect, US.





Mobile Posse announced Steven McCord has been appointed its Chief Technology Officer. McCord will oversee the company’s engineering, development, project management and quality assurance teams.






Pinterest has named its first chief marketing officer as Andréa Mallard, the former marketing chief of Athleta. Mallard will oversee Pinterest’s marketing and creative teams.






Entravision Communications Corporation has announced that Mario M. Carrera has decided to step down as Chief Revenue Officer.  Entravision has commenced a search for a successor and Mr. Carrera will remain in his position until a replacement is named.






Stacey Zolt Hara has joined Visa in the newly created position of VP and head of global reputation management and public affairs. Reporting to Paul Cohen, SVP and head of communications, Zolt Hara is based in San Francisco.






As part of a business restructure, Verizon’s CEO Guru Gowrappan announced that Oath is no more. The company will bring its platforms and services under a new division called Verizon Media Group.






Jon Moeller, Chief Financial Officer at P&G, will expand his responsibilities to include the operations side of the company and will be appointed Vice Chairman, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer.

Christine Abramo has been named Senior Director National Multicultural Partnerships at POPSUGAR. Abramo will launch POPSUGAR’s Multicultural division and handle Multicultural partnerships. Previously in her career, Abramo worked at companies including FLUVIP and Evolve Media.





John Schnatter has stepped down as CEO of Papa John’s. Though reasons were not disclosed, sources agree it had to do with his criticism of NFL anthem protesters. COO Steve Ritchie has filled the position, while Schnatter remains as board chairman.





Patrick Scissons has left the position of CCO at global advertising agency KBS. According to AdAge, 2017 was a tumultuous year for KBS, after the departures of Global Strategy Officer Jonah Bloom, Global Chief Technology Officer Matt Powell and President Katie Klumper.




Twitter has promoted head of US agency development Stephanie Prager to head of global agency development. She will manage all partnerships with global holding groups and oversee the platform’s teams of global leads. Her main focus will be helping agencies and brands tackle their major concerns, and boosting collaborations between brands.







Winnie Lerner has been appointed North America managing partner at Finsbury. She will coordinate the firm’s U.S. practices and accelerate the expansion of its capital markets practice.






Adrián Carrasquillo, BuzzFeed’s White House correspondant, has been fired after sending disrespectful messages to female colleagues. He had been working for BuzzFeed since 2013.




Vice Media Inc. suspended President Andrew Creighton and Chief Digital Officer Mike Germano in order to investigate harrasment claims against them.





The Association of National Advertisers (ANA) has acquired the Word-Of-Mouth Marketing Association, led by Spike Jones, in order to expand on professional development services, conferences, awards and webinars to incorporate WOMMA’s word-of-mouth and social media expertise.






SoftNAS, Inc., a leading cloud data platform company, has announced the addition of John-Marc Clark as Vice President of Marketing. He will be in charge of SoftNAS corporate, product, digital and alliance marketing strategy and execution.

(UCI), the media company serving Hispanic America, announced that it has extended the Company’s employment agreement with President and Chief Executive Officer Randy Falco for an additional two years, through January 31, 2020.With Falco as President and CEO, UCI has expanded its reach to an estimated 108 million average monthly unduplicated viewers.




Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) has also named Carolina Santamarina vice president of client solutions & experiential marketing for Local Media Sales. Santamarina will focus on connecting brands with Hispanic communities through integrated, client-focused marketing solutions, experiential events, field and mobile digital and social marketing services.She will be based in Miami, Florida and will report to John Buergler, senior vice president of growth initiatives for UCI Local Media. Most recently Santamarina served as senior vice president of SBS Portafolio, a cross-platform content development division for Spanish Broadcasting System.







Andrew Donin is leaving his position as chief marketing officer of Under Armour. He has been with the company for 15 months, joining from Amazon, where he was head of worldwide mass and brand marketing.

Joanne Zaiac has been named chief client officer, Americas, at Dentsu Aegis Network’s performance marketing agency Merkle. She was most recently chief operating officer at DigitasLBi North America. She spent more than 18 years at Digitas in assorted roles, including as president of the agency’s New York office for more than a decade.

Guillermo Abud has been appointed VP Business Development – US Hispanic, LATAM & Spain at OpenSlate Data.Previously, Abud worked as Head of Global Business and Programmatic at Batanga (now VIX). Prior to Batanga, he spent 4 years as VP Digital Director & Head of Programmatic MC of Publicis Media.






Daniel Cohen left MP&Silva to  lead sports marketing and entertainment agency Octagon’s media rights arm. Cohen has joined the agency as senior vice president of media rights consulting. He will be based in New York and report to the agency’s chief strategy officer Simon Wardle. Most recently, Cohen served as MP & Silva’s senior vice president of Americas.






Bernardo Rodriguez has been named to the newly created position of Chief Digital Officer at J.D. Power, the global leader in consumer data & analytics and advisory services. Rodriguez will be responsible for advancing J.D. Power’s digital transformation with responsibility for new product development, branding, marketing and mergers and acquisitions. He will report directly to Finbarr O’Neill, Chief Executive Officer and President. Rodriguez joins J.D. Power from Huge, the global full-service digital agency, where he served as Managing Director of Strategy.




Robin Steinberg is leaving her role as executive VP of publishing and digital director of investment and activation at Publicis Groupe’s media agency Spark Foundry. She has been with MediaVest, which recently merged with Spark to form Spark Foundry, for 13 years. Prior to that she was VP and director of print services at media agency Carat. There is no word yet on her future plans. Spark Foundry declined to say whether the position will be directly filled or absorbed into something else.





WPP digital agency Mirum has hired John Bruning as its new technical director. Bruning will oversee all tech teams on the company’s Mazda America account, meaning he will work across both Mirum and Garage Team Mazda, the Costa Mesa-based agency established in 2010 and dedicated to the client. He spent a good bit of time overseeing the Mazda account at Hearst agency iCrossing. He will replace Sasha Pfandt. Earlier this year, Garage Team Mazda hired Erich Funke as its new chief creative officer replacing Harvey Marco.




iCrossing has appointed Jacob Davis head of audience planning. Davis will report to president of media services, Mike Racic. Prior to iCrossing, David was Director, Digital Acquisition at Hilton Worldwide, where he led the paid search and affiliate teams to maximize revenue and ROI.






Kent Rees has been named to the newly created position of chief marketing officer at the CBS-Lionsgate-owned cable network Pop. He was most recently executive VP and general manager of cable network Pivot and also oversaw the rebranding of IFC






Telemundo 47 New York / WNJU announced the addition of weather anchor Tairy Ynoa to the station’s La Autoridad en El Tiempo (Weather Authority) team. Her on-air debut is scheduled for August 14. A native of Queens, Ynoa comes to Telemundo 47 following two years with both NY1 and NY 1 Noticias, where she delivered weather and traffic updates. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Media Communications from Queens College.





Rebekah Audic has been appointed global head of marketing for in-video advertising company Mirriad. She will oversee marketing across Mirriad’s global businesses. Audic comes from video content agency LoveLive and Getty Images.






Minneapolis agency Riley Hayes hired Karen Schultz, formerly of Clarity Coverdale Fury, as its new director of marketing.

Univision Communications announced the appointment of Steve Mandala to President of Advertising Sales and Marketing, effective immediately. Mandala, who was most recently Executive Vice President of Advertising Sales, will remain based in New York and will report to Tonia O’Connor, Chief Revenue Officer. In this role, Mandala will oversee advertising sales and marketing for UCI’s suite of media offerings, including the Univision Network, UniMás, UCI’s cable networks including Galavisión and UDN (Univision Deportes Network), as well as Local Media and Digital. As he transitions into the role, he will work closely with Keith Turner, who recently announced plans to retire this year.

Formerly a vice president of Sales for Univision’s west coast network, Mandala rejoined the Company in 2012.

Tonia O’Connor has been promoted to the newly created position of chief revenue officer at Univision Communications. In her new role she will oversee all of Univision Communications’ revenue streams, including linear and digital advertising, content distribution and new revenue development. She joined Univision as executive VP of distribution sales and marketing in 2008 and was most recently chief commercial officer and head of content distribution. Among her first actions as CRO will be to appoint a successor to Keith Turner, Univision’s president of ad sales and marketing ,who recently announced his plan to retire at the end of this year. 

Keesha Jean-Baptiste has joined 4A’s organization as senior vice president. Jean-Baptiste comes to the 4A’s after a long tenure heading up talent and HR at Wieden+Kennedy.Jean-Baptiste will further develop the 4A’s Talent and Inclusion practice by providing strategic planning, program oversight and development of 4A’s diversity and inclusion offerings, including the 4A’s Foundation, the Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP) and its high school programs. Additionally, she will support member agencies on diversity and inclusion best practices.She will relocate to New York and will be based in the 4A’s headquarters.

Telemundo 40 / KTLM announced that Carlos Yustis has been named weekday Sports Anchor for NoticiasTelemundo 40, which airs Monday through Friday at 4 PM, 4:30 PM, 5 PM and 10 PM. Yustis will make his on-air debut on June 19 and will join news anchors Dalila Garza and Carlos Sánchez, weather anchor Tania Leal and a dynamic team of reporters that deliver local breaking news to Spanish-language viewers throughout the Rio Grande Valley.Yustis is a national Emmy-award winner and joins Telemundo 40 after working as an Associate Producer and Anchor for Telemundo Deportes in Miami, Florida since 2016.






Humberto Cruz is the  new position as Head Of Commercial Operations at Havas Media Group.Previously, he was Head of Socialyse LATAM and USH at Socialyse for almost two years.









GroupM recently announced the merger of its media agency Maxus and MEC. As a result, digital agency Essence will transform into a fuller-service agency providing both digital and traditional media services.Three senior Maxus executives are now shifting to roles at Essence:

Steve Williams has been named Essence CEO of North America; he currently holds this title at Maxus.

Rob Reifenheiser, current Essence CEO of The Americas, will shift to the newly created role of executive director.He will help Essence winning and integrating multi-agency clients across both the agency and GroupM.

Nick Baughan will become CEO of Essence EMEA.

Damian Blackden is also joining Essence as Chief Strategy Officer; he currently holds the title at Maxus.

Simeon Duckworth will step into the role of global head of strategy & analytics, responsible for driving the agency’s analytical capability across both digital and analog channels.

Garrick Schmitt has been named global director, experience design, charged with further bridging Essence’s regional creative teams across North America, EMEA and APAC.



Rosemary Ravinal has been appointed Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) Vice President of Entertainment and Consumer Public Relations. Ravinal will oversee publicity efforts for UCI’s portfolio of Spanish-language entertainment, broadcast and cable networks and serve as a primary point of contact with consumer media. She will be based in Miami and report to company EVP & Chief Communications Officer Rosemary Mercedes. Before UCI, Ravinal was a senior counselor on Hispanic business strategy for Toyota Motors North America at República, the Miami-based multicultural marketing agency.





After two-and-a-half years, Rob Horler is no longer US CEO of media network Dentsu. Horler left Dentsu  to “pursue other opportunities”.Horler was appointed CEO of Dentsu Aegis US in 2015.







Jack Smith was named to the newly created position of chief product officer, North America, at GroupM. He was previously chief strategy officer of [m]Platform, the GroupM addressable and programmatic media data and technology unit.






Carla Serrano has been promoted to worldwide chief strategy officer for agency holding company Publicis. She was most recently CEO of Publicis New York and prior to that served as chief strategy officer of Publicis North America. Serrano joined Publicis in 2014 from Naked Communications, where she was CEO.






Litmus, the provider of an email creative platform, has named Erik Nierenberg as CEO.









Hearst Ventures has appointed Dave Famolari managing director. Famolari, who previously served as a director of Verizon’s ventures arm, will work from New York with another managing director of Hearst Ventures, Darcy Frisch, and focus on U.S.-based investments.

Sabio Mobile, a smarter technology-driven mobile ad platform, has announced two new hires: Andrew Polsky has been appointed Senior Vice President of East Coast Sales & Total Market Strategy, and Jean Yap-McNamara as Creative Director.

As the SVP of Sales, East, Andrew Polsky will hold a key leadership position in expanding Sabio’s client base on the East Coast through Sabio’s App Science capabilities. Polsky comes to Sabio from Adsmovil where he oversaw brand partnerships and revenue growth for the mobile ad network, including direct and programmatic business lines reaching 28 million U.S. Hispanics.

As Creative Director, Jean Yap-McNamara will lead Sabio’s creative team in delivering impactful mobile experiences to  brands Sabio currently works with. A digital advertising veteran of 14 years, Yap-McNamara comes to Sabio from AdColony/Opera Mediaworks where she played a key leadership role responsible for creating mobile experiences working across a diverse range of renowned brands.


MARC USA President/CEO Michele Fabrizi announced that Dave Buklarewicz has joined the agency as EVP/Executive Media Director. Buklarewicz comes from Havas Media in Boston. MARC USA provides media services for AOR clients such as Rite Aid, Payless ShoeSource, the Pennsylvania Lottery, Belle Tire and others as well as media-only clients including Five Star Senior Living and Kaleo.





Andrew Benett will be global chief commercial officer at Bloomberg Media, a newly created role. In addition to handling standard ad sales, marketing and consulting services for the international media property, Benett will also help to “build out a group within Bloomberg Media ‘that will be competing’ with creative and public relations agencies,” in his own words.




Accenture Interactive has promoted Jamie Posnanski to head of digital content. The firm’s content operation has over 7,000 employees globally spanning strategy, creative and production, management, distribution and other disciplines within the sector. He replaces Donna Tuths, who has left the company to explore other career opportunities. Previously Posnanski was managing director. He joined Accenture in October 2012 with the acquisition of avVenta Worldwide.




Turner, the cable TV network group, has promoted advertising executive Amit Chaturvedi to EVP, revenue operations and product management. Chaturvedi will be responsible for oversight, direction and management of Turner’s TV advertising operations division, as well as advertising products and product strategy on other Turner platforms. Chaturvedi had been SVP, revenue operations and platforms and had been with Turner since November 2015. He will report to Lenny Daniels, president of Turner Sports.Turner owns and operates various brands, including Adult Swim, Bleacher Report, Boomerang, Cartoon Network, CNN, ELEAGUE, FilmStruck, Great Big Story, HLN, iStreamPlanet, Super Deluxe, TBS, TCM, TNT, truTV and Turner Sports.


NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises announced the appointment of Francisco Ponce to the position of Vice President of On-Air Talent Management. In this role, he will oversee on-air talent relations, helping to develop and execute a unified on-air talent strategy across the division. Ponce will be based in Miami and will report to Claudia Foghini, Executive Vice President, Talent and Production Management Services at Telemundo Networks and Studios.Ponce will help facilitate the promotion of Telemundo and Universo on-air talent across all NBCUniversal platforms and he will work closely with the sales teams to identify and coordinate on-air talent for partnership opportunities.Previously, Ponce was CEO and President of In2ition Entertainment.




Dentsu Aegis Network announced the appointment of John Lee, Merkle’s chief product and data officer, to global president of MerkleONE, to oversee the global roll out of the people-based ad-targeting strategy and platform.Lee will oversee the development and roll out of M1 in the United States, reporting to David Williams, CEO Merkle, and John Murray, president, Amplifi Global. The change comes from the acquisition of Merkle in 2016 for a reported US$1.5 billion.



Publicis Communications has promoted Lizzie Dewhurst to global PR and communications director.She will be responsible for the messaging around the group’s creative agencies including Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis Worldwide and Marcel, alongside several others.
