@viacomamericasChilean multinational retail company Cencosud S.A., owner of Jumbo, Easy and shopping Unicenter, will have for the first time an Argentine CEO. Matías Videla, who takes over as the holding company new general manager on Dec. 1st, will  replace Andreas Gebhart.

 

 

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) sees great potential in its Latin America and international OTT and Studio business. As part of its continued global expansion efforts, the company announced key leadership changes:

Pierluigi Gazzolo, President of VIMN Americas and EVP of Nickelodeon International, is being elevated to President of OTT International and Viacom International Studios (VIS) . In his new role, Gazzolo will initially focus on accelerating the rollout of Pluto TV across international markets, starting with a major launch across Latin America in early 2020. 

 

 

 

Juan “JC” Acosta, currently EVP and COO of VIMN Americas, will be upped to President of VIMN Americas, effective January 3, 2020.

WeWork has named former CEO and chairman of Publicis Groupe, Maurice Levy, to interim chief marketing and communications officer, according to Bloomberg. This is part of WeWork’s five-year turnaround plan which came after the company laid off around 2,400 employees globally.

Enrique Martinez will step down as Discovery Latin America president at the end of this year. A 24-year veteran of the company, Martinez has served as president and managing director of Discovery Latin/America/US Hispanic for 17 years. Martinez joined Discovery Communications in 1994 and was instrumental in establishing Discovery Channel in Latin America. He also worked on the launches of Discovery en Espanol and Discovery Famiglia in the U.S. Medin joined Discovery in 2002 and was instrumental in launching Discovery in Spain, Mexico and Brazil.

 

 

He will be succeeded by Fernando Medin, who is currently executive VP and general manager for Brazil and the Southern Cone market.

 

 

 

 

 

 

As of this date, Ogilvy Latina CEO Horacio Genolet has appointed Manuel Juárez as Director of Corporate Communication for this region. Juárez will report directly to Genolet, and will continue to work with the help of Gonzalo Valenti from Argentina. Manuel is a member of the board of PRORP, the Mexican Association of Professionals in Public Relations, and holds a postgraduate degree in Marketing and a Diploma in Communication and Political Analysis from the Universidad Iberoamericana.

 

 

 

Santiago Olivera is Y&R Argentina new CEO. Olivera comes from TBWA Buenos Aires. Prior to TBWA, he worked for Draft FCB, Savaglio TBWA and DDB Buenos Aires.

Havas Media Group Argentina has appointed Carolina Sabha as Head of Trading for all the holding agencies. Sabha joined Havas Group in 2005.

 

 

 

 

 

Florencia Vieyra, who has been part of Havas Group for 9 years, has been promoted to Havas Media’s Negotiations Director. She will work along with Sabha.

 

 

 

 

MEC Argentina has announced the appointment of Sandra Muñoz as new General Account Director. She will be responsible for the agency’s client portfolio, including Toyota, Colgate Palmolive, Mercado Libre, Prisma (Visa), Musimundo and Energizer, among others. Sandra worked in leading international companies such as Initiative Media, Telefé, Havas, Young & Rubicam and Leo Burnett.

Amanda Meziara has been promoted to Media Director.
