Truth Initiative
Truth Initiative, a national public health organization dedicated to preventing youth and young adult nicotine addiction, has selected Initiative as its new Media Agency of Record (AOR), effective July 1, 2024. Initiative will be responsible for media strategy, planning, and buying as well as social influencer engagement on behalf of Truth Initiative, the organization behind the nationally recognized and award-winning truth® youth tobacco public education campaign. With a proven track record in delivering powerful public health campaigns, Initiative will leverage its industry-leading Youth Center of Excellence to advance Truth Initiative’s mission further. Initiative will utilize cultural drivers, engaging content, and personalized experiences to raise awareness among young people to make more informed decisions about tobacco products and drive enrollments into Truth Initiative’s market-leading quit programs.

Kellanova

Kellanova (formerly Kellogg Company and maker of Pringles®, Cheez-It®, Pop-Tarts® and more) today announced it is expanding its partnership with Interpublic Group (“IPG”). The announcement comes after an extensive evaluation of Kellanova’s global agency model to accelerate brand portfolio growth and support the company on its journey to be a global snacking powerhouse. The move advances Kellanova’s Differentiate, Drive and Deliver strategy and the growth ambitions the company has for its stable of iconic brands.
As a result of the process:
-For global and priority brands, including Pringles, IPG’s FCB will lead on global creative duties and production and will partner with The Martin Agency and MullenLowe across all Kellanova regions.
– Publicis and its agencies will continue to lead creative across some snack brands and international cereal in Europe and now Latin America, as well as media for all North America brands and creative for Pop Tarts.
– In the U.S. for selected smaller brands, Kellanova is appointing Tombras as its lead creative and integrated marketing agency supporting shopper marketing and promotions, production, public relations, and influencer engagement. As Kellanova transitions, Rethink will continue its current engagement to support RXBAR.
– Weber Shandwick will continue to oversee U.S. public relations and influencer engagement for priority brands.
– Momentum will handle shopper marketing and promotions in North America.

Ahold Delhaize’s U.S. brand, Stop & Shop, announced plans to close 32 underperforming stores by the end of 2024 as part of its growth strategy. Despite these closures, Stop & Shop will continue to have over 350 stores across its five-state footprint. Affected employees will be offered other opportunities within the company. Specific closing dates will be communicated to local customers in advance. Stop & Shop remains committed to serving its communities through other store locations, online shopping, and home delivery services. The closures include 5 stores in Connecticut, 8 in Massachusetts, 10 in New Jersey, 7 in New York, and 2 in Rhode Island.

Panda Express
Panda Express is embarking on a new creative journey, according to Mediapost. The brand, which operates over 2,500 restaurants across 11 countries, has appointed Opinionated as its new creative agency of record (AOR) following a competitive review process. The previous agency was The Many, based in Los Angeles. Opinionated’s role will be to create a strategic marketing platform to elevate Panda Express, established in 1983, from a recognized brand to a beloved one. The agency’s first campaign is set to launch in January 2025, aligning with the Chinese New Year. Media responsibilities will continue to be managed by Pal8.
