  • MundoFox
    Oswald Mendez  is the new Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for MundoFox, the new U.S. Spanish-language broadcast network from FOX International Channels (FIC) and RCN Television of Colombia. Mr. Mendez will be responsible for all areas of marketing, including customer experience, advertising, promotion, web and electronic services and corporate social responsibility programs. MundoFox has made sizable consumer targeted advertising campaigns throughout 2012.
  • Dr. Pepper
    Dr. Pepper is renewing its sponsorship agreement with Lucha Libre USA for 2013. (Interview with Olivia Vela, Multicultural Marketing Director at Dr. Pepper Snapple Group).
  • Prezi
    The popular zooming presentation-making service Prezi has launched localized versions of its website in Spanish.It took Prezi just 1.5 months to increase its user base from 15 million to 17 million. The new language versions of Prezi’s website are meant to increase the platform’s adoption in Spanish, Japanese and Korean-speaking countries. Spanish-speaking communities’ year-over-year growth rate almost reached 200%, the company stated in its announcement. According to the company, there are already 1.6 million Spanish speakers using Prezi, as three out of the top six countries are Colombia, Spain and Mexico.
  • Walmart
    Walmart is opening a supercenter in Horizon City, a growing community  on the outskirts of El Paso’s burgeoning East Side. Ground was broken last week for construction of a 180,000-square-foot Walmart Supercenter at Horizon Boulevard and Darrington Road in the heart of Horizon City. It’s expected to open next fall.The world’s largest retailer already has a big footprint in the El Paso area. It operates eight supercenters, six Neighborhood Markets, and three Sam’s Clubs in El Paso County, employing several thousand people.It opened three new stores in El Paso County this year. It also has two Supercenters, and one Sam’s Club in Las Cruces, El Paso’s New Mexico neighbor.The Horizon City Supercenter will employ about 300 full- and part-time employees, a Walmart spokesman reported.
