Robert W. Decherd, chief executive of the A.H. Belo Corporation, parent of The Dallas Morning News and of Spanish-language weekly Al Dia Texas, is retiring, effective in September. Decherd, 62, has been at the helm of A.H. Belo since the company’s spin-off from Belo Corp. in 2008. Jim Moroney, 56, currently executive vice president of A.H. Belo, as well as publisher and CEO of the newspaper, will succeed Decherd as CEO of the parent organization.

Ismalis Mendoza has a new position Marketing Manager at Ares Distributors, previously Mendoza worked as Media Supervisor at Marca.
Tribune Co. has appointed Steven Berns as its executive vice president/chief financial officer, responsible for overseeing all finance functions, including financial reporting, treasury, tax, and audit. He joins the company from Revlon, Inc., the worldwide cosmetic and beauty products company, where he served in a similar capacity beginning in May 2009. Berns will report to Tribune’s CEO, Peter Liguori, and begin his new duties before the end of July. Tribune also announced that Chandler Bigelow, who has served as the company’s CFO since 2008, has been appointed to the newly-created position of executive vice president/chief business strategies and operations officer. In this new role, Bigelow will oversee the company’s equity investments and its real estate portfolio, and will help lead the ongoing transformation of Tribune’s traditional media businesses. He will also report to Liguori.‌

Alex Price was promoted to director of sales for the Southeast Region at MundoFox. He was previously senior director. The network also hired three new senior account executives—John Perez, Michelle Patick and Pam Alfa.  Price joined MundoFox in 2012 and is based in Miami. Before joining MundoFox, he spent six years in TV spot sales and over eight years in network sales. He will be based in New York. Patick has a background in national spot TV ads sales, while Alfa has held assorted ad sales positions for 15 years. Both Patick and Alfa will be based in Los Angeles.

Telemundo Las Vegas announced today the addition of Herb Anderson to its local sales team as an Account Manager. Anderson joins the Telemundo family with over 10 years of sales and management experience.“Herb is a great addition to our local Las Vegas team, and he will play a key role in offering solutions, that combined with the station’s ratings gains, will successfully serve the needs of our advertisers” expressed Ramiro López, Telemundo Las Vegas Station Manager.

Univision Communications the appointment of Larry Sands to regional vice president of Univision Chicago. He will continue to serve as the president of Univision Puerto Rico and oversee all operations in both markets. Sands will be based out of Chicago and continue to report directly to Kevin Cuddihy, president of the Univision Television Group. Malule González, vice president/station manager, Univision Puerto Rico, will oversee day to day operations at the station.
