Though the agreement Movistar customers will be able to scan bidi codes with their phones through print, TV and billboards, and to download mobile content more quickly.
While mobile scanning features have long been talked about in the U.S., the technology has yet to be made widely available, and it is possible that the impetus for such adoption will come from newly arrived Latin Americans demanding the same capabilities they enjoy in their home countries.
