Condé Nast Publications and Ediciones El País are to launch a new weekly magazine on newsstands in September that will be distributed together and inseparably from the Saturday edition of El País. The magazine – in print and online and available in all digital formats – is expected to set the standard in the world of content aimed at women, and open a new era in the weekly magazine market, thanks to its unique approach to fashion, beauty, society and current affairs.
Condé Nast and EL PAÍS have created a joint venture, Ediciones Conelpa, which is 50% owned by each company. The managing editor is Empar Prieto, with over 18 years experience in newspapers. Elena Ferreras, until now director of advertising for Glamour, is to head advertising. Javier Pascual del Olmo, president of Conde Nast Spain, Mexico and Latin America, will be president of the new company and Maria Frias, until now strategy manager at El País, will be managing director.
Condé Nast Publications, publisher of Vogue, Vanity Fair, Glamour, AD, GQ and CN Traveler, among other titles, is present in over 21 countries. It publishes 135 different magazines titles worldwide with over 100 websites.
