Sony Ericsson has put its $200m global media planning and buying account out for pitch.
MEC has handled the Sony Ericsson business for 10 years and is expected to re-pitch for the account along with a number of other agencies.
According to a statement released by Sony Ericsson, the review was called as “part of its global procurement guidelines” and “is not a reflection on our relationship with MEC, who has been our trusted partner for 10 years.”
Sony Ericsson recently teamed up with Orange to launch a new entertainment agreement. In March, the mobile manufacturer strengthened its marketing team with the appointment of Steve Walker as global head of marketing.
