  • Brazil Tourism

From Johannesburg, a new international tourism campaign was launched: "Brazil is calling you! Celebrate life here. Brazil. Sensational!" It consists of television spots, print ads, social media programs and more, with the objective of inviting the world to visit the country before it becomes the host of major world sporting events. The campaign was prepared by the Tourism Ministry through EMBRATUR (Brazilian Tourism Institute) and will be seen on television and a newly launched YouTube page on July 12.

  • Johnnie Walker

Gavin Pike, currently the marketing and innovation director at Brandhouse Beverages in South Africa, has been appointed as global brand director of Johnnie Walker (Diageo). Diageo also announced that the previous global brand director, David Gates, is now global category director for whisky.

  • Ernst & Young

The accounting giant is looking for an agency to provide it with a new global brand strategy and proposition. The winning strategy idea will be used as the basis for its advertising in different territories, where the company uses a variety of local agencies to create campaigns. E&Y announced last week that it would appoint non-executive directors to its global advisory board for the first time amid growing pressure on accountancy companies over governance. E&Y is one of the largest accountancy firms in the world along with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte and KPMG.

  • Quepasa

Quepasa Corporation owner of, an online social network targeting the Latino community, announced the launch of a new DSM Campaign promoting Ultimate Fighting Championship. The UFC campaign is Quepasa's first DSM in the entertainment vertical, and builds upon the success of the Quepasa UFC community, launched in March of this year.

In this latest campaign, "Why I Watch," participants are invited to create and share UFC video highlight reels for the chance to win UFC memorabilia along with other UFC merchandise not readily found in Latin America.

  • Mahindra Satyam

Mahindra Satyam, an IT Business Consulting services company based in India, aims to increase revenue in its sports-management division to $100 million from $30 million before the next World Cup in 2014. It wants to be one of the top three information-technology companies in host-country Brazil, providing a “gateway to Latin America,” said Dilbagh Gill, head of sport at Mahindra Satyam.
