  • Carlos Pedraja/ Google – Latin America

Carlos Pedraja is the new industry manager Latam at Google, where he will contribute to Google’s panregional sales team out of Miami. Until recently Pedraja worked as U.S. Hispanic Specialist Sales at MSN.

  • Marriott International – Global

Marriott International put its global media planning and buying business into a "closed review." Incumbent shops — Carat (US), Starcom (Latin America), ZenithOptimedia (Asia Pacific) and MEC on a project basis (EMEA) — have been invited to participate. Marriott said it expects to conclude the review and name its new media agency this fall.

  • Philips – Global

Philips, the electronics giant, is set to review its estimated 488 million dollars global creative and media business. The lead incumbents on the accounts are DDB and Carat. The company also called a review of its global digital business, held by Tribal DDB, eleven months ago. However, the review was abandoned before it reached a full pitch, according to Brand Republic´s sources.

  • Telstra / Ogilvy – Global

Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide has won the retained global PR account of Australian telecoms giant Telstra. Oglivy beat a host of global PR firms to secure the brief. The change of tack will see Telstra work with Ogilvy to position itself as a global leader outside of Australia.

  • Unilever / DLKW Lowe – Global

Unilever has appointed DLKW Lowe to handle the global launch of its new coffee-based ice-cream drink Cafe Zero. The agency won the business after a pitch against its rival Unilever roster agency DDB, and will now handle all advertising activity for the brand as it rolls out in various markets over the next 18 months.

  • Surf/ Dove / Razorfish – Global

Razorfish, the Publicis Groupe-owned agency, has won the global digital accounts for Unilever brands Surf detergent and Dove haircare, after separate pitches. Razorfish, which pitched against undisclosed agencies, will assist with strategy and the launch of new markets and products for both brands. The agency already handles Unilever brands Axe, Lipton, Rexona and Signal.
