Prisa owned Media Capital entered into a strategic partnership with MySpace Portugal. Media Capital Multimedia will sell advertising and manage MySpace Portugal’s advertising inventory. Both partners will share advertising  revenues at 50% each. Revenues for 2009 are expected to be 350,000 euros (aprox $472,000). MySpace was established in Portugal in 2008 and has 500,000 registered users. Media Capital owns the second largest Portuguese portal IOL as well as the websites for news channel 24 horas de TV (tvi24.pt ), Maisfutebol and Agência financiera.

Adsales representation for social networking sites sometimes has interesting twists. For instance, PuntoFox which like MySpace belongs to Newscorp, sells Advertising for “competitor” Facebook in Latin America (and not for MySpace).
