The Mundial Group announced today that it will be changing its name to Mundial Sports Network ( The newly named group, which publishes Fútbol Mundial, Béisbol Mundial and Boxeo Mundial magazines with respective audited circulations of 950,000, will include the Mundial Online Sports Network, its Digital Magazines (aka “digi-zines”), enhanced owned and operated destinations and a forthcoming WAP mobile site. The network claims a vertical reach of 3 million.

It will be interesting to see how the new network does versus other sports online properties. Major Mexican andSpanish online properties have a huge following in the U.S. The include published by Grupo Editorial Expansion (owned by Time Inc.), and published by Unidad Editorial out of Spain and (published by Notmusa in Mexico).

Separately, the Mundial Group announced a strategic alliance with, Chicago-based manufacturer of children's apparel with 16 years, (Read press release here).
