Mexican telecommunications company America Movil said Monday it has signed a contract to buy Latin American digital entertainment content provider DLA from Claxson Interactive Group Inc., in a deal expected to close before the end of the year.

America Movil, controlled by Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, is Latin America's largest mobile service provider, and also offers Internet and television through fixed-line units. Terms of the acquisition weren't disclosed.

DLA, based in Miami, is a provider of Spanish-language content for delivery on digital media in Latin America and the Caribbean, delivering third-party content as well as several of its own channels.
