Facebook and .Fox Networks announced an agreement under which .Fox Networks becomes the official representative of Facebook’s Ad inventory sales in Latin America including Brazil as from October 2009.

Facebook ranks eighth in Mexico among total online audiences according to a recent ComScore report and third in Argentina. In Brazil, however, it does not rank among the top 20 most visited websites.

.Fox Networks will market the range of advertising products available through Facebook and offer homepage Engagement Ads and integrated ad units across Facebook pages. The deal will also increase Facebook’s exposure through access to Fox’s Group cable channels and create multiplatform marketing opportunities for companies in Latin America.

This strategic alliance combines .Fox Networks’ reach and knowledge of the online ad market in the region with Facebook’s growth in the territory, allowing advertisers to reach their target audience.

Moreover, advertisers will be able to segment their media plans by age, gender, language, and country in order to maximize their investment and achieve a high degree of effectiveness. Also, local companies will be able to advertise quickly and easily, regardless of time difference and language, as it will be done through a local representative.

“The agreement with Facebook is one of the most important alliances we have made recently. Facebook and .Fox Networks will be able to offer digital packages to advertisers with creative and efficient alternatives that no doubt will generate demand among advertisers,” said Hector Costa, SVP and General Manager, .Fox Networks US Hispanics & LatAm, and SVP of Ad Sales, Fox Latin American Channels.

.Fox Networks will be a valuable ally for us as we seek to help businesses connect and engage with their customers in meaningful ways,” said Mike Murphy, VP, Global Media Sales, Facebook. “.Fox Networks understands the unique social marketing opportunity on Facebook and will work directly with businesses in Latin America to help them implement successful campaigns.”

With sales offices in 33 markets around the world, including Miami, Mexico, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Santiago, Bogota, Caracas, Guatemala and Madrid, .Fox Networks serves +20 billion impressions to +60 million unique users each month, and leverages its TV and online teams around the world to facilitate the convergence of TV and online video planning and buying.
