Colombian newspaper El Tiempo, part of Grupo de Diarios America GDA, announced the launch of its redesigned newspaper and website, scheduled for October 3.

Guido Conterno, Executive Director of GDA told Portada the new design "is actually a reconceptualization of the both our print and online product."  The website’s redesign is expected to have a strong impact on the paper’s daily operation and organization.

Mario Garcia is the designer heading the redesign.  The website will feature three homepages: "Must Read," which will include opinion pieces, "Must Do," which will feature entertainment articles and classifieds, "Must Know," which will feature news.

The idea behind this new design is to organize the mix between the company’s website, newspaper and magazine.  Diego Carvajal, online editor of El Tiempo, and Ernesto Cortes, the newspaper’s editor, are leading the restructuring.
