Coca Cola won the Gold in a print media ad competition sponsored by Crain Communications publications Advertising Age and El Asesor, a Mexico City business weekly. The Coca-Cola Export Corp.'s print ad, called “Barrera,” contrasts men's and women's soccer teams lining up for penalty kicks. The men cover their genitals, the women their breasts. The ad, by Interpublic's McCann-Erickson Mexico, promotes Coke's sponsorship of a men's and women's soccer tournament. McCann-Erickson also took the silver award for a Nescafé ad called “El Perfumero.” The bronze award went to BBDO-Mexico for a Dodge ad called “Woman.”
