Wal-Mart promoted Enrique Ostale, head of its Chilean stores, to president and chief executive officer of its Latin American operations as the retailer probes possible bribery in multiple regional markets.

MPG’s global chief executive Maria Luisa Francoli Plaza is due to step down after almost 20 years with the agency. Plaza joined the Havas-owned media agency MPG in 1993 in a corporate development role that put her in charge of new markets and business development. Within four years, she was the person responsible for establishing MPG’s interactive and digital network MediaContacts.

The editorial team of the just launched Gizmodo en Español  is led by Manuel Ángel Méndez, previously technology editor of El País. In addition, Manuel Ángel Méndez, a contributing editor who worked for El Mundo newspaper; and Jesús Díaz, founder of the original Gizmodo Español is now Editor Emeritus. One more editor will also be hired to round out the staff. “I’m very excited because I have always been passionate about technology, so having this opportunity is a huge thing for me and I am very happy to put together and work with this kind of team,” added Daniel Mauser, who has been named head of Gawker’s services expansion for the Hispanic market.

MediaWhiz will keep its name, corporate branding, and distinct brands, after the recent acquisition by Matomy, but gets a new CEO. Hakan Lindskog. Lindskog, was previously chief executive at CPA (Cost per Acquisition) network Neverblue. Sine existing members of MediaWhiz’s executive team left the company, among them CEO John Kuendig and President Ed Kats, but a representative says the departures weren’t related to the company’s sale and other MediaWhiz management team will remain post-acquisition.

Juan Pedro Di Polo, creative Director of digital agency Wikot will now joining Wikot’s Miami team. Di Polo previously worked out of Wikot’s Caracas, Venezuela, office.
