Diana Garcia will be leaving Starcom Miami in mid-june. She has been hired by Open English as its new new VP Marketing.

Andrea Diquez, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Mexico, has announced two new appointments. Luis Elizalde has joined the agency as Creative Director and Maruca Ortiz becomes the new Regional Director on the Mead Johnson account Latin America.

Alejandro Vega Magallanes is joining Contrapunto Barcelona as Account Executive for Sanex. He will be part of team that manages the international communication strategy of the account. Digital, print and social media. Among other clients, Contrapunto handles the Meliá, Aramark, Danone, Skoda, Gas Natural accounts.

Sony Ericsson has appointed Tommi Laine-Ylijoki as corporate vice president and head of operations, reporting to president and CEO Bert Nordberg. Laine-Ylijoki joins Sony Ericsson from Nokia, where he was vice president, materials management. Laine-Ylijoki has more than seventeen years of experience working at Nokia. Over th­e years, he has worked in th­e areas of research in microelectronics, operations capacity management, direct sourcing and supply chain. In his last position at Nokia, as vice president, materials management, he was responsible for all operational inbound supply-related activities for th­e company, working in both th­e operations and sourcing organisations.

Unilever has appointed Iain Potter as vice-president marketing for its home and personal care category (HPC). Potter replaces Matt Close, who has been promoted to the role of vice-president, marketing operations, food and ice cream Europe, Unilever. Potter will take up his new position from 1 July, and will oversee brands such as Lynx, Dove and Surf.

Johnson & Johnson (J&J) is overhauling the structure of its consumer business to streamline the division and give more authority to regional market heads. The restructure, led by Jesse Wu, worldwide chairman of J&J's consumer healthcare division, abolishes the existing global reporting structure to create four geographical units: EMEA; North America; Asia Pacific; and Latin America. Also a new unit, Emerging Markets, will be headed by Juan Jose Gonzalez. Each regional head reports to Wu, along with the head of global franchise organisations, Pericles Stamatiades. Marketing teams are being shaped to match the structure.

Reporting into Stamatiades are the four franchise leads within the consumer category. Stamatiades will oversee Bill Murphy, president of Over-The-Counter; Rick Rizzo, president of Oral Healthcare; Walter Grundy, president of Women’s Healthcare; and Stefano Curti, president of Skin Care.
