Lufthansa has appointed Luis Monreal as the new General Director for Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, based in Buenos Aires. The company’s goal is to “consolidate” as the air choice between Europe and Latin America. Monreal comes to Buenos Aires after serving for five years as General Manager of Lufhtansa in Holland. From Argentina, he will coordinate the actions for the South American countries. Currently Lufthansa operates 73 flights per week, to 13 cities in 9 Latin American countries.
Twitter has appointed Pepe López de Ayala as general manager for Latin American Spanish-speaking markets. From this position, he will oversee the activity in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru. The executive will be based in Mexico City and will report to Guilherme Ribenboim, VP of the social network in this region. Previously, he spent six years at Google.
Paula Figueroa is the new video and content director for Telefónica Latin America. Prior to this appointment, Figueroa was marketing director for Chile. Now, from that country, she will oversee Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico and Central America operations.
Magdalena Neira is the new communications manager of Mars Chile. Neira joins Mars after having worked at Nestlé for almost six years in different roles.
Ivan Pollard has been appointed global chief marketing officer at General Mills. He was most recently senior VP-strategic marketing at Coca-Cola North America and spent six years with Coke. Pollard was also a global partner at Naked Communications and held posts at Wieden+Kennedy and DDB Needham.
PokerStars has appointed David Carrion as Director of Marketing to lead the global strategy of the PokerStars brand, including advertising, digital, social media, content marketing and live events. Carrion joined PokerStars in January 2010 as Director of Live Poker Operations for Latin America. Carrion, who has spent the last two years leading digital marketing efforts, will combine live events expertise, knowledge of the brand and digital understanding with his personal passion for poker to continue growing the game globally and authentically, online and live.Carrion will assume the role permanently on July 1 and will also be interim Director of Live Events until a new executive is appointed. Vadim Soloveychik, Director of Brand Marketing and Edgar Stuchly, Director of Live Events, will leave the company at the end of June.
Andre Richter Reis is the new Director of Retail Sales for Ingenico Group in the Latin America region.
