Juan Pablo Suarez was recently hired as Business Development Manager at US Media Consulting in Miami. Suarez tells Portada that he will be leading US Media Consulting’s development of  outsourcing services offered to media partners. These services can include back-office work and ad-sales related activities. Previously Suarez worked as Business Development Director at Mediabrands.





Carolina Lightcap is joining Discovery, as the head of content for Discovery Networks Latin America/US Hispanic (DLA/USH), and GM for the Southern Cone.  Lightcap will head all areas within DLA/USH related to content, which include programming and marketing. In her role as GM for the Southern Cone, Lightcap will be responsible for overseeing Discovery's business in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Bolivia and Paraguay. She will be based out of Buenos Aires. Lightcap is Former Disney Channels Worldwide President.

Publicitas & Charney Palacios  announced that Lucio Grimaldi is the new leader of the Publicitas unit in Miami, including its sales and media relations efforts for the Latin American region. He will report directly to Howard Moore, managing director, Publicitas North America.  Amelie Ferro, CEO, Publicitas Charney/Palacios, has decided to pursue other professional interests. Publicitas thanks her for her dedicated leadership over the past seven years.

Ivan Martins has been promoted to Director of MediaVest Buenos Aires. MediaVest is part of the Starcom MediaVest Group. Martins has been working in the industry for about 14 years.

MEC Argentina has named Deborah Slabodsky as new Analytics & Insight Director. Slabodsky has more than 10 years of experience. MEC also promoted Valeria Guarrochena to Operations Director. She will be in charge of all the operations in the country for the agency. Guarrochena has been working for the group since 1996.

The Argentinean agency Madre announced that its Creative Directors Rafael D´Alvia and Sebastian Stagno are now part of the direction board as new partners.

NBC Universal International Television has named Marco Giusti as its new Creative VP and Seema Kotecha as new Marketing VP. Both executives will be in charge of developing and strengthen the international operations of the network at the pay tv market.
