Andrea Padilla, until recently Marketing Director Latin America at Avaya, was named Marketing Director for Marriot International Latin America, where she will be leading the branding, PR and overall marketing strategy for the different Marriott Brands throughout the Latin American region.
MMAX Media, a Latin-based extreme fighting organization covering all of Mexico, Central, and South America, announced Tommy Habeeb as Chief Executive Officer. The company said it is poised for a significant expansion into Latin America with the new CEO. Habeeb has been a Hollywood producer of syndicated television shows.
Flor de Caña announced the appointment of Maribel Viteri as International Marketing Manager. Based at Rum Marketing International, Flor de Caña's headquarters in Miami, Viteri will oversee the brand's global marketing in key markets. Viteri will report to Robert Collins, Managing Director of Flor de Caña.
Ignacio M. Vidaguren is IMS’s (Internet Media Services') new Chief Operations Officer, effective immediately. As COO, Ignacio's primary responsibilities will include expand IMS' products and services, developing new revenue opportunities and overseeing the company's day-today business operations.
Ignacio joins IMS following an 11-year career at MercadoLibre where he served in several executive positions dedicated to sales, marketing and business development. Most recently, he was senior Vice President of Corporate Sales, Customer Service and Trust & Safety, where he spearheaded efforts focused on managing the relationship with top sellers, solving users' inquires, preventing fraud and making MercadoLibre a safe and reliable trading platform. Prior to his tenure at MercadoLibre, Ignacio held management positions at McKinsey and Co., in both Argentina and New York.
Mauro Brunetti is the new Commercial Director at Psicofxp. He substitutes Oscar Sciesa. Additionally, Leandro Santoro, is the New Commercial Manager at PsicoFxp, a content based social network based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Synovate has promoted Enrique Domingo to the position of CEO for Iberia and Latin America: he was previously MD for Iberia. He replaces Ignacio Galceran, who is leaving the firm at the end of this month to take up the post of Regional CEO Latin America at TNS. Domingo, who has more than 24 years’ experience in market research and business development, joined Synovate in 2002, after his own firm INNER Strategic Research was acquired by the group. His new role will continue to be based in Madrid, where he will work closely with the local Iberia and Latin America management teams. Synovate has offices in eight countries in Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru), and in the Iberian countries, Spain and Portugal.
TNS has appointed Ignacio Galceran as regional chief executive of Latin America, taking over the role from Wander Meijer. Galceran joins TNS from Synovate where he was CEO of Iberia and Latin America. Previously he worked for Roper ASW (now part of GFK). He will join TNS in October and take up the new role in January 2011 and will be based in Sao Paulo.
Natalia Zullo and Carla Etcheverry have founded Novaeris, a new Argentinean agency specialized in institutional communications, digital and multimedia. Zullo has been working as Brand Director at Path Comunicación and Etcheverry has worked for JWT and Dentsu. Novaeris is working at the moment with Velas de Ballena, Cerro de Ski Caviahue, Sociedad Medicina del Trabajo, HeimGreen and Remembrar.
Giovana Ferreira, ex Product Coordinator at Hotwords, leaves the company to start working at Tu Aviso as Comercial Strategies Manager and PR. Giovana is based in Naucalpan, Mexico and reports to Alonso Fernandez, General Manager. Among other duties, Giovana will be in charge of the development of new business and clients, sales strategies, event planning, etc.
